approaching the market from a technological angle. "There will be 5 billion phones, all internet enable in
the next two, three years", say Lau, we're at barely one percent of what we want to be.

Wattpad is a place to discover and share stories, a social platform that connects people through
words. It is a community that spans writers and readers interest and language. With Wattpad, anyone
could read and write on any device such as: phones, tablets, or computer. Where in writerwould give
facts that all readers never knew that those kinds of stories are existing and not even written in some
books.

Wattpad is one of the world’s largest communities for discovering and sharing stories. It’s a new
form of entertainment connecting readers and writers through storytelling. Wattpad has thousands of
new stories added by anonymous authors every day. Wattpad is the only place wherein it offers a social
mobile reading experience and interaction between readers and aspiring writers.

Most people using Wattpad are teenagers, but there are books that are for 16/18+ crowd. However,
underage people may find themselves curious and the read. Reading Wattpad can generately affects the
teenagers academic performance and health, specially senior high school students.

It will inspire the all users in general way it be good and bad, we must have to make it useful in a
way that it will enhance themselves in general.

Background of the study:

As time goes by, generation now a days were very much exposed to a technologies with the rapid
advancement of technology today, there have been a lot of development that changed the life of many
and one of this is the Wattpad application whare in teenager and even adults can read and write a
stories. according to Somdatta Sarker a lot of students and teenager were pretty much inlove in reading
Wattpad, especially the girl . Because they very loved the "Kilig scene / Kilig moments ". They felt they
are one in the characters in the story. But they didn't realize the negative effects of it, not only mentally,
physically but also spiritually.

all stories that were published under Wattpad are free. This site is one of the trending sites that
most of the students are following because many students can easily relate their life to those fiction
characters.
 This online entertainment is getting stronger and wider most of the viewer arr teens commonly
students.

Wattpad is a good application for those teenagers who aim to enhance their writing , rearing ,
comprehension and creative skills. It depends on how a user seea it or use it.

This study aims to know what would be the possible reasons of the students bt why their
academic performance at school is getting affected.

The researchers believe that Wattpad does not totally affects the academic performance of the
students and also believe that Wattpad helps the students or teenager on their social communication
with the other Wattpad users.

Statement of the Problem:

1. What are the factors that made the students addicted on reading Wattpad.

2. What are the good and bad effects of reading Wattpad.

3. How does reading Wattpad affects the studies of the students.

Scope and Limitation:

The study covers the Senior High School students in San Isidro National High School who reads
wattpad. Senior High School students either girl or boy who has a lot of experience in reading wattpad
and even for those who are not a reader. On how reading wattpad effects their school academic
performance.

Significance of the study:

The researchers conduct this study for the teachers , parents and specially Senior High School
students in San Isidro National High School to guide or help the senior high students realize the effects of
reading Wattpad to thier health where the students usually escaped their meals on time. Academic
performance in school for the students to actively participate in every activities and in the spiritual
activities. For the teachers and parents to know how to guide their students and children to manage and
organize their time properly.
