Dear Sir/Ma’am:

Mabuhay!

SKC is a non-partisan, non-sectarian national alliance of youth leaders and a consortium of youth organizations
aimed at amplifying young people’s voices.

Last year, SKC together with the Rotaract Clubs of Fort BGC District 3830 and San Francisco Del Monte Malaya
Achievers District 3780 organized an intercultural youth convention with focus on Mindanaon Tribes.

With its success, this year, the Rotary Satellite Club of Fort BGC Titans and many other partners are joining us to
make create a bigger platform for cultural exchange and understanding, and discussions of issues affecting the
sector. We will be gathering youth leaders from different ethnolinguistic groups and parts of country.

We intend to make this program an annual affair to strengthen the bond among young people, sustain peace and
friendly relations among the ethnolinguistic groups, and unify the youth of the Philippines for a better tomorrow.

The event is titled the Philippine Intercultural Youth Convention (PIYC) 2018 with the theme “Breaking Cultural
Barriers, Empowering Young Leaders”. It will be held at The Great Eastern Hotel, 1403 Quezon Avenue, Quezon
City on September 22-23, 2018. It will provide an opportunity for tribes and different races in the Philippines to
exchange knowledge of their culture and heritage. The event also serves as a platform for young leaders to engage
and have a close encounter with government officials and experts in various relevant fields.

The event also aims to provide its participants the Philippine Cultural experience through segments such as the
Cultural Festival, an exhibition of cultures through a world cafe method, a cultural networking night, and many
other presentations.

This will be in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), National Commission on Culture
and Arts (NCCA), Korean Cultural Center (KCC) and many other government, non-government, and media
institutions supporting the cause.
In view thereof, we would like to ask for your support by becoming one of our ADVOCACY PARTNERS.

Attached herewith are our organization profiles, concept note, provisional program and the partnership packages
for you to choose from. Your favorable response will guarantee the promotion of your club and the success of the
event.

We will be very grateful if we will be given an opportunity to discuss the details of the said event in person or over
the phone. Should you have any queries about our request, please feel free to contact us through
piyc2018.sponsorship@gmail.com or any of our colleagues through the information provided below.

Thank you very much.

Yours in Rotary Service,

CONCEPT NOTE

PHILIPPINE INTERCULTURAL YOUTH CONVENTION (PIYC) 2018

22 – 23 September, 2018

Emerging youth issues today involve mental health, bullying, substance abuse, discrimination, etc.
This leads to grave misunderstanding, violence, crime, further marginalization of cultural
minorities, ultimately erecting larger cultural barriers among the people of the Philippines.
Experiencing marginalization creates traumatic experiences to young people which affects not
merely one’s developmental growth but also the communities’.

Our strategy is to collaborate, to integrate and let the youth experience various cultural heritage
for better understanding while promoting peace and harmony. The Philippine Intercultural Youth
Convention (PIYC) 2018 provides the opportunity for tribes and different ethnicities in the
Philippines to exchange knowledge of their culture and heritage. The event also serves as a
platform for young leaders to engage and have close encounters with government officials and
experts in various relevant fields.

The PIYC 2018 also aims to provide its participants the Philippine Cultural experience through
segments such as the Cultural Festival, an exhibition of cultures through the world cafe method,
a cultural networking night, and many other presentations.

OBJECTIVES:

1. Educate at least 500 student leaders and community youth leaders from various parts of
the country on the different cultures of the Philippines and the common issues the sector
is facing.
2. Promote peace and understanding through cultural immersion
3. Promote cooperation among the youth through initiating links and engagement leading
to future project collaborations.
4. Create an action plan based from the youth’s experience during the event to harmonize
efforts in addressing priority issues.
5. Inspire young people to actively engage and take leadership roles for the development of
their communities.
