Surgeon posts on contract basis under National Health Mission Scheme in the
Government Hospitals and Government Primary Health Centres in the State of
Tamil Nadu.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery or above, awarded by a recognized

University.

Mandatory Criteria:

Registration in Tamil Nadu Dental Council, Chennai on or before the date of

this notification.

Note:

1. Sub-Section 8 of Section 20 of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants

(Conditions of Service) Act, 2016 shall be applicable to this recruitment.

• Should have completed 18 years of age as on 01.07.2019.

• For candidates belong to General category should not have completed
35 years as on 01.07.2019 (as per Amendment G.O.(Ms)
No.447/H&FW (B2) Department, dated: 27.09.2018).
• Candidates who belong to other category (i.e. other than General) they
should not have completed 57 years of age as on 01.07.2019
[as per section 20(8) of Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of
Service) Act,2016] Shall be applicable for this selection.

Rule of Reservation:
Reservation and Related information;

a. The rule of reservation is applicable as per the rules in force.

b. The number of vacancies advertised is only an indicative number and is
liable for change with reference to vacancy position at any time before
finalization of selection for appointment.
c. Defence personnel, released or likely to be released from the Armed
Forces due to disability incurred in forward areas while on duty, will also
be selected, if they are found to be otherwise qualified and if the Medical
authorities are satisfied that the disability is not such as would render them
incapable of efficiently discharging the duties of an Dental Surgeon.
d. Reservation for differently abled:-
Provisions of Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of
Service) Amendment Act 2017 (Act 30 of 2017) will be applicable:
4% of the posts are reserved for Differently Abled Persons as per
G.O.(Ms) No.20, Welfare of Differently Abled Persons (DAP.3.2)
Department, dated: 20.06.2018, are furnished hereunder and such
candidates have to produce a certificate of physical fitness from the
Medical Board.

The rule of reservation of Government of Tamil Nadu is applicable [section

27 of Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016]

Salary:

Consolidated pay of Rs.26,000/- (Twenty six thousand only) per month on

contract for a period of eleven months.

Procedure to apply:-

Candidates possessing the qualification in the system mentioned above only

need to apply. Application form is separately appended to this notification. Every
candidate should submit the application, only in the prescribed format through
Registered Post/Speed Post. Application not in the prescribed format will be
summarily rejected.

Other Conditions:-

This selection of Dental Surgeon under National Health Mission scheme is

purely on contract basis with a consolidated pay of Rs.26,000/- (Rupees twenty six
thousand only) per month for a period of 11 months only.

On completion of the above said period of 11 months their service will be

terminated
 They should work for 6 days in a week from 9 am to 3 pm. They are eligible
for 10 days leave during the contract period for 11 months. If the leave exceeds
more than 10 days, it will be treated as loss of pay.

They are not eligible for any other kind of leave.

Dental OP department should function from Monday to Saturday

irrespective of Government Holidays.

On performance basis further contract period will be renewed after one day
break (i.e., one working day). This selection and appointment is liable to be
terminated at any time without any prior notice and without assigning any reason.

The Dental Surgeon shall reside at the Head Quarters of the Medical
Institution to which he/she is posted. He/She shall abide by the duties and
responsibilities assigned to him/her. Further he/she shall carry out any
instructions/works assigned by the Higher Authorities from time to time.

Consequent on their selection on contract basis they shall not have any
preferential claim for any future Government Appointment in time scale in
this department as a matter of right since the selection is purely on contract
basis.

Fee:

There is no fee for applying to the post.

The filled in applications should be submitted to The Director, Directorate of

Medical and Rural Health Services, Teynampet, Chennai-600006, through
Registered Post / Speed Post only.

The Applications received after the stipulated time and date will not be
entertained under any circumstances and will be summarily rejected.

The department will not be responsible for any postal delay.

A Self addressed envelope (size 17x12 cm) along with stamp for Rs.40/-
should be enclosed for sending communication.
