C. Apply the use of Adverb in a sentence

1. Preliminary Activity

a. Opening Prayer
Before we start our lesson, let’s start it with a (Students will pray)
short prayer, Miguel lead the prayer for today.

b. Greetings
Good morning 8-Rizal Good morning ma’am Eunice!

c. Classroom Management
Before you take your sit, kindly pick up the (Students will pick up the pieces of paper and
pieces of paper under your chair and arrange it arrange their chair)
properly.

d. Checking of Attendance
Go to your proper sitting arrangement and I (Students will go to their proper places)
will check the attendance

Okay, very good, now what is the meaning of Ma’am adjective is a describing word.

Give me of example of adjective. Jennifer is a beautiful lady. BEAUTIFUL is

the Adjective.

f. Motivation
Before we start to our new lesson for today. I
have here 3 sets of sentences.
1. She is silently crying
2. My dad will cook later.

Number one sentence is “She is silently

crying.”
What is the verb in the sentence? Crying ma’am

Okay great, and what do you think is the Silently ma’am

Adverb?

When we say adverb it modifies verb, adjective

and another adverb.

Number two sentence “My dad will cook later”

What is the verb here? “cook” ma’am

What do you think is the adverb here? “later” ma’am

Very good, because the word “later” modifies

the verb “cook”

e. Lesson Proper
Now that you are all familiar with adverb we
will now go to the Kinds of Adverb.

The first kind of adverb is Adverb of Time

Adverb of Time, when we say adverb of time

it describe when is/was the verb taken, and
always answer “WHEN”. Example The
newspaper arrives daily

What is the verb here? Arrives ma’am

Very good. Arrives is the verb the newspaper

is the subject. What do you think the word Daily is the adverb ma’am
daily uses in the sentence?

Excellent! Daily describes that, “when the

newspaper was arrived?” it answers daily.

Do you understand it? Yes ma’am

Next is Adverb of Place and it talks about the

location where the action of verb happened.
Example “She turned her face upwards to the
sun”

What is the verb here now? Turned ma’am

Very good, Turned is the verb and what is the

subject here? She ma’am

What do you think is the word upwards uses Adverb of Place ma’am
here?
Very good, where did she turned her face? It
answer upward the sun.

Lastly Adverb of Manner and it describe how

and in what way the action of verb is carried
out and always answer HOW. Example “I ate
my dinner quickly”

What is the verb here? “Ate ma’am”

What is the subject? Ma’am the subject in that sentence is “I”.

What do you think the adverb here? I think ma’am the adverb in that sentence is
quickly.
Yes you’re right the adverb of manner is the
word “quickly”. How she/he ate the dinner? It
answers quickly.
