PRE-LESSON: (10 minutes)


1. Teacher recalls back previous lesson by asking pupils what they need to do to plan a piece of writing
2. Teacher jots down pupils’ ideas

LESSON DEVELOPMENT: (40 minutes)


3. Teacher asks pupils to read the “Exam Close up” and “Exam Task”sections
4. Teacher asks pupils whether they understand or not the instruction that they read by using traffic lights (Formative
Assessment)
5. Teacher reminds the pupils that they can use abbreviations in writing an email because it is informal
6. Teacher asks pupils to plan how to answer “exam task” individually
7. Pupils share their answers through think-pair-share activity
8. Teacher reads “useful expressions” part to the students and asks them to repeat them
9. Pupils work in pairs and practise to invite each other to a special event by using the expressions
10. Teacher divides pupils into 6 groups

11. Teacher checks whether pupils understand the instruction or not by using traffic lights (Formative Assessment)
12. Pupils re-read the “Exam Close-Up” and “Exam Task”

PRE-LESSON: (5 minutes)
1. Pupils look at the pictures of a few celebration (eg: wedding party and birthday party celebration)
2. Pupils tell the teacher what they can see in the pictures
3. Teacher pastes some flash cards about the name of celebration or events
4. Pupils match the words with the suitable pictures
5. Pupils state the name of celebrations that they can’t see from the pictures
LESSON DELIVERY: (20 minutes)
6. Pupils list down all other important celebrations in Malaysia in a mind map
7. Pupils share their answers through Think-Pair-Share activity
8. Teacher writes down a few important dates on whiteboard
9. Pupils have been divided into 5 groups and every group get a mini whiteboard
10. Teacher asks every group to guess what is the important celebration which is related with the dates
11. Teacher checks whether they understand what they have to do. (Traffic Light Cards) (Formative assessment)
12. Teacher carries out “Pat Pat Siku Lipat” game where the pupils need to write down about the celebration that they
guess to occur on the certain dates that have been written on the whiteboard
13. Teacher asks every group to discuss and list down the dates that they feel important in their life likes their birthday
date and they need to justify their reasons (Teacher introduces 5W1H technique to help pupils can justify their answers
easily)
