This class will focus on effective total body movements and workouts aimed at improving your overall fitness in a multitude of
domains - strength, aerobic endurance, anaerobic capacity, agility and more. The class will challenge your usual training regimens
and teach workouts to truly IMPROVE fitness. Workouts will consist of varied combinations and circuits of functional weightlifting
movements (squat, press, deadlift), bodyweight exercises (push-up, pull-up, sit-up, jumps) and cardiovascular activities (running,

Triathlon Training
This class will provide a group training setting for individuals wanting to learn how to train properly for a short distance triathlon.
Focus will be on swimming, biking & running fundamentals and how to combine them into your training program. You will also
learn about endurance-based nutrition, recovery and triathlon transition techniques. A suggested training schedule will also be pro-
vided to be completed independently during the week. The 4-week course will build toward completing a mini-triathlon consisting
of approximately a 200 meter swim, 25 min. bike and 1-3 mile run within the last scheduled class time. Intro to Triathlon Training is

class will give you the tools you need to make strength training a priority in your life! This class meets twice a week; one day will
focus on strengthening the entire lower body, targeting the quads, hamstrings, and glutes through variations of squats, lunges, and
exercises designed to tone the inner and outer thighs. The other day will utilize body bars, resistance bands, dumb bells, and sta-

UVA Inauguration Volksmarch (5k/10k)


April 17, 2011. IM-Rec Sports is pleased to announce the first Cavalier Volkssporting Club event.
This non-competitive 5K/10K Volksmarch offers routes that will traverse University Grounds where
participants will pass by the Rotunda, a World Heritage Site, as well as the Lawn and Gardens,
University Hall, John Paul Jones Arena, Observatory Mountain, Lambeth Field Colonnades, Scott
Stadium, and many other proximate sites to Thomas Jefferson’s Academical Village.
Specific route information will follow and full details will be online by February 16, 2011.
