Introduction

Historical Background

The rapid growth of technology has contributed a lot to the continuous progress of

all classes of industry. However, some sectors today seem to left behind in adapting the use of

different methods to allow progress on their part. Nowadays, business people define the

application and problem to solved by the computers.

Computerization is a control system that manages processes in the industrial

workplace. It reduces human errors and processing time, thus it can boost productivity and

result in high quality of production. This can result in a system well integrated process that

can perform much faster and more accurate than the manual system.

Barangay Parian’s official information system in Calamba is still using a manual process in

generating reports they need submit to particular agencies. Their disadvantage is that they do

not have a centralized and accurate system for storing records and updates of activities to the

residents of barangay Parian.

An information system is computerized database, accept, and store data. This makes

it useful for analysing data and report results to the residents of barangay Parian. The aim of

this study is to develop an information system for the residents of barangay Parian. This study

will benefit the residents of barangay Parian and the people who will manage the files and

information for it will be easy to access the information they need. This will also lessen the

wastage of papers, it is cost efficient for barangay officials, administration, and agencies. The

information of the barangay parian will easily be maintained for any changes or updates using

the proposed system.

Thus, the researcher proposed computerized a information system of Barangay Parian,

Calamba City, that will give safer storage, fast retrieval of files, maintains reliability and

accuracy, and faster tracking of the files. Proposing software for records is very useful to the

staff, from hand written records and manual issuing Barangay clearance, certificates and other

barangay papers.

The Company Profile and its background

Barangay is the small administrative division in the Philippines and is the native

Filipino term for a village or district. Barangay are further subdivided into smaller areas called

Puroks. A barangay is lead a governed by its barangay officials. It is composed of a Punong

Barangay or Barangay Captain/Chairman,seven (7) Barangay Councilors or Barangay

Kagawad and a Sangguniaang Kabataan Chairman. Together with this is the Barangay

Secretary and a residing midwife or a doctor that manages and supervise the barangay health

center. Barangay Parian is one of the barangay having the biggestt number of population in

the municipality. Having the population of 23, 947 people with 1,052 household according to

National Statistic Office based ont he census dated 2018. The chairman of the barangay is

Honorable Barangay Captain Perez Rodney P.

Statement of the problem

Barangay Parian until now is using manual system. The barangay usually keep their

data hand-written on paper, and file it in a folder. Then the secretary will generate the list of

all the names of an individual in a household in each Purok, in hand-written again. In tracing

the records, the secretary will find it one by one. It takes a lot of time. These records are very

important for different purposes, it should be stored securely

The proponents observed the problem of Barangay Parian. As a result, the proponents create

a system that will aid the difficulties in the barangay. The said system will reduce the hard and

longtime procedure, and it will be effective in maintaining, searching, and storing of records

and generating reports of the residents.

Specific Problem

 Barangay Parian residents can use this system easil

 This system lessen the time consume of every residents who filling up the data forms?

 This system have a safe and organized storage

Objectives

The main goal of the study is to develop a computerized a Barangay Information

System that can automate the record-keeping process in order to produce efficient and

accurate reports and proper automated files management. Furthermore, the system will be

able to secure residents confidential records, to easily update resident’s profile, provides

backup database of all records and to issue certificates or permits and other related records.

Specific Objectives

 This system is human friendly this can use easily. This system provides instruction to

follow of every residents.

 This system can minimize time for processing of various task thereby reducing time

consumption.

 This system have a safe data storage only admin can see the private information of

resident.

Significance of the Study

The following group of people will benefit from the study. First, barangay officials,

the study will help barangay officials to be knowledgeable enough on recording of data. They

will also be provided with a background about the system to become more advance and be

familiar in having a new way of recording data. It will help them minimize the effort and time

they exert in terms of gathering the data or information of the residents. Second,

administrators, the result of this investigation would serve as a benchmark for an efficient

handling of records.

 Admin – Manages the adding data, updating and storing records, and printing a

documents, note a report and meetings.

 Future Researchers - Would see the possibilities of upgrading the system.

 Residents - Fast and friendly transactions, have the benefits of the printed receipts

right after purchasing an any document

 Researcher – Student, teacher, programmer and web-developer can benefit in this

system through a detailed document.

 Other Barangay – Would have an idea of upgrading from manual system to

computerized system.

Scope and Limitation

The Scope of Information system covers the recordings of every resident’s

information and maintenance such as list of every resident’s information in the Barangay

Administrators have total access to the system, insert, view, update and delete every residents

records that are officially leaves in the barangay and search resident’s profile information.

The Limitation of Information system is only limited to the data records of every resident in

barangay Parian. The people of barangay Parian are not allowed to view a other data

The computer based information technology serves heavily to the human resource

information system applications, which provide rapid information dissemination and feedback

would be impossible by not having computerized support, (Benjamin, Alan, and Benson,

1986), (Nishad Nawaz and Anjali, 2014), (Nishad Nawaz, 2014), (Nishad Nawaz, 2012a),

(Nishad Nawaz, 2013b), (Nishad Nawaz, 2012c), and (Nishad Nawaz Maditheti, 2017). Based

on a systematic review, this paper proposes a conceptual framework that can be used to know

the human resource information systems’ contribution to human resource management

services.

According to (Lovaas and Wagner, 2014) Having in mind the definition of

Information Systems (IS) mentioned in the previous section, the Information Technology (IT)

could be seen as a subset of IS. The IT Auditing is considered as being a quite new discipline.

Despite this fact, it has an important role in the life of a business due to its critical support in

improving the control of the information produced inside of an organization.

According to Dunn & Scott (2015), science and technology is the root of emerging

innovations in this world. For many years now, a person in this field of expertise does not

stop to reshape the landscape of today’s business world. Information System has made huge

impact into the school arena. It is a system that is built on innovative program strategies. It is

a system that will help both the system personal-in-charge and the students to easily know

their information in a lesser time.

According to Mr. Jefrey Whiten et al (2014), it is all about information systems

development methods. All business and organizations develop information systems. System

analysis and design is about business problems solving and computer applications. This book

contains the methods that can be applied into a wide variety of problems domains not just

those involving the computer. It gives idea to the proponents in regards with the system

development methods that will help any business and organizations problem.

According to Aaron Swartz (2016), SIS process is typically completed into students

school career and encapsulates each of the facets of knowledge built up and literacy value,

including learning what type of SIS is available, finding and accessing system sequence,

evaluating tools for the information and then synthesizing the student information system into

certain and product for a better career patterns as it seemed like the ideal project to focus SIS

and relate it to ample literacy instruction around. While the students had all performed

database searches before, they were less likely to have taken advantage of the search

management tools available to them through educational database, how to set up automatic

searches to help streamline the research process.

Ensuring the compatibility of an information system with current work practices of an

organization could also be considered as a necessary component for the acceptance of

information technology. If the technology in use is perceived to, for example slow down

procedures or increase workloads of the employees, then patterns of resistance that lead to a

poor user acceptance may emerge (Moores, 2014).

Fred Davis developed the technology acceptance model in order to explain the reasons

behind user acceptance of information systems, and according to his theory the two main

factors that determine user acceptance are perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness of

the system. End user’s attitude towards the use of a specific information system consists of at

least these two factors, and this attitude in turn affects behavioural intentions, however,

according to the model there is also a direct link between perceived usefulness and intentions

of use, which suggests that perceived usefulness has a bigger impact on a person’s use patterns

than perceived ease of use. Actual system usage behavior is ultimately defined by the intentions

of the user. (http://edutechwiki.unige.ch; “Technology Acceptance Models”, 2014.).

The importance of information systems (IS) has dramatically increased during the past

decade as an in-creasing number of businesses have implemented them (Davidavičienė 2015;

9
St. Vincent College of Cabuyao
Mamatid, City of Cabuyao, Laguna

Bachelor of Science in Information Technology

Paliulis et al. 2015). A modern organization could not be imagined without an efficient

information system.

(http://edutechwiki.unige.ch; “Technology Acceptance Models”, 2015.).

Analysis of research made by Awais et al. (2015) showed that over the past few

decades, companies all over the world started to notice a great need for information systems

in the business field. It was hardy possible to ignore the significance of benefits and a

possibility to increase business performance through such an investment. It was quickly

observed that an IS can help a business to save money, in-crease the competitive advantage

and improve performance, thus creating more profits.

Awais et al. (2015) provided few other definitions of information systems, describing

them as a combination of an information technology and human resources that use the

technology to perform some actions in support of business processes. These could also be

named as the application landscape. The notion “information systems” could also be used to
10

describe interaction between users, algorithmic processes, information and technology.

Furthermore, an information system could be understood as a semi-formal language that

enables an improved decision-making pro-cess and supports other actions. The main function

of an information system is to process (collect, transfer, store, process, and share) information.

There might be a lot of different definitions for an information system as it might be

perceived from different points of view; however, in all cases, they refer to the systems that

are commonly grouped into five categories. − Office Information Systems (OIS) −

Transaction Processing Systems (TPS) − Management Information Systems (MIS) − Decision

Support Systems (DSS) − Executive Support Systems (ES).

Executive support systems receive information from management information

systems and decision support systems. Management information systems are using data from

office information systems, transaction processing systems and decision support systems.

Decision support systems use data from management information systems, transaction

processing systems and office information systems. Office information systems are supported

by management information systems. Transaction processing systems are the only systems in

the network that serve as information “providers” rather than “consumers”.

Different descriptions are suggested in various scientific sources regarding the

purpose, functionality and operational areas of the systems provided above. The most relevant

explanations of every system are provided to gain a better understanding of the information

systems and their influence on improvement of business performance.

An Office Information System (OIS) is an information system that enhances business

processes and makes communication between users easier through the use of hard-ware,

software and networks. Using computers and other electronic devices, employees perform

most of their task automatically rather than manually (Awais et al. 2014).

DwiParawanto (2014), in his research entitled Patient Administration and Registration

Information Systems in SADEWA Mother and Child Hospital, generated Patient

Administration and Registration Information Systems which processes data of patients,

doctors, employees, examinations and administrations. The data then was considered as

references for decision making by the doctors or the hospital, thus the services to patients

would be improved.

Ahmad Anshari and Bambang E P (2015), in their journal entitled Distributed Data

Patient In Medical Record Information System, with the Information system will be able to

overcome the problem of data search quickly at a hospital. Patients who visit any hospital will

feel comfortable and Mall practice would be suppressed because can easily find previous

patient history data, so as to determine the subsequent diagnosis becomes easier.

An article from Web Designer magazine dated 2015 by Steve Jenkins entitled “Pay As

You Go Advertising”. It shows that for most types of advertising, advertisers pay for people

to see the ad. With Google Adwords, the advertiser only pays when someone clicks on the ad

and visit the website of the business. The advertiser have complete control of adjusting or

customizing the ad campaigns like how much to spend, who sees the ad, and where and when

the customers see it. It is related to the study because it tells about Google Adword which will

be of much help to advertisers and the business itself. It also shows that it is easy for advertisers

to make an ad campaign of the business because they have the complete control and also help

the business to be popular.

During the recent two decades, Web based Management information system

WBMIS as a type of information systems has widely spread and becomes one of the

most important resources in providing the key organizational activities such as

automation of everyday tasks and decision making process (Piccoli, 2014).

Local Literature

Pacio (2014) on her thesis entitled “Online Student Information System of Benguet

State University” gave emphasis that as main goal of the school “to generate and disseminate

new knowledge and technologies that will promote sustainable resource development and

enrich the competent and effective services geared towards efficiency and economy” which is

inconsistent with the existing student information system of the Kalinga State University Rizal

Campus.

Based on Pacio (2014), changes in the Information Technology (IT) allows school to

utilized database and applications such as Online Student Information (OSIS) thus, making at

the access of records centralized. One of the changes that came about was the Online Based

Applications. The applications improved the traditional transaction processing system because

of its effectively to acquire process store and retrieve information from the internet. Moreover

the system is accessible to all student’s information. Benguet State University (BSU) is still

using a semi computer based system in paper based student information and also laborious

due to repetition the process done in filling and updating of records. As main goals of the

school “To generate and disseminate new knowledge and technology that will promote

sustainable resource development and enrich the competent effective services geared towards

efficiency and economy” The current system is inconsistent with the assorted schools main

goals.

International Journal of Sciences Basic and Applied Research (IJSBAR)(2014) One of

the key factors in creating high performance organizations is having a valid, well-organized

and ready to use information. Nowadays, it is being considered as one of the most important

assets of an organization. Having the right information at the right time is essential to make

the right decision in attaining the objectives of the organization. That is why information

should be properly managed and organized in order to maximize its value and one way of

managing information is having a well-structured information system. Information system is

a set of interrelated components that collect/retrieve, process, store and distribute information

to support decision-making and control in an organization. In addition to supporting decision-

making and control, information systems help managers and workers to analyze problems,

visualize complex subjects and create new products. It contains information about significant

people, places and things within the organization or in the environment surrounding it. In

order to have an information system, there had to be raw data that had to be transformed into

information, which was meaningful and useful to its users.

Many studies have shown that proper information management contributes much to

the success of an organization be it in public or private sectors. Information Management, as

defined by [18], is a process of establishing the organizational principles for various data life

cycles across both structured and unstructured data sources, instituting a committee to govern

the principles, and setting up the processes and procedures to harness the data such that

meaningful business insights are derived and delivered to the consumers at the right time in

the right format.

Managing information through a system is known as Management Information System

(MIS). As defined, management information system is an organized approach to the study of

the information needs of an organization's management at every level in making operational,

tactical, and strategic decisions. Its objective is to design and implement procedures, processes,

and routines that provide suitably detailed reports in an accurate, consistent, and timely

manner. It encompasses all the systems and processes within an organization for the creation

and use of corporate information according to Robertson. This includes people, process,

technology and content. Each of these must be addressed if information management projects

are to succeed. In many cases, ‘information management’ has meant deploying new technology

solutions, such as content or document management systems, data warehousing or portal

applications.

Goldberg, emphasized that management information systems make it possible for

organizations to get the right information to the right people at the right time by enhancing

the interaction between the organization’s people, the data collected in its various information

15

Mamatid, City of Cabuyao, Laguna

Bachelor of Science in Information Technology

technology systems, and the procedures it uses. It brings together the raw data collected by

the various business areas of the organization, which, while useful for specific functions such

as accounting, does not provide, by itself, information that can be used to make decisions. He

added that well-constructed and well-organized MIS can provide management with the

knowledge it needs to reduce operating costs and increase profits.

Effective information management however is not easy. There are many systems to

integrate, a huge range of business needs to meet, and complex organizational issues to

address. Likewise, numerous factors are to be considered to improve organizations

effectiveness and efficiency.

Management Information System (MIS) involves numerous functions and one of its

important functions is the monitoring system. According to Mugoya, monitoring is the

tracking of the information to monitor progress of a particular record. The record would show

various details to enable monitoring of various activities. Monitoring was the act of overseeing

the progress and ensuring the right system was protected, accurate data entered, complete,

verifiable and compliant with the system. At the same time, accessing data was restricted by

giving privileges to the right people to access it. With the right monitoring system, MIS could

provide timely, reliable and useful information to management for quick decision-making.

In the management information system, modern, computerized systems continuously

gather relevant data, both from inside and outside an organization. The relative importance of

information management (IM) is increasing at an accelerated pace. He added that the use of

IT predisposes public organizations to acquire specialized skills and substantial capital

investment, improve efficiency by streamlining the management of information, and share or

disseminate information.IT may improve productivity, but such improvements occur only

when IT is introduced in conjunction with certain organizational practices oriented to take

advantage of new data availability.

Mr.Lopez in (2014) an information system helps and provides efficient and reliable

services to the students, enrollment personnel and administration. Moreover, this system

improved the process of information in terms of searching, retrieving and subject schedules.

According to Aquino (2015), importance of computer system is increasing day by day.

In the latest decades of the millennium winning organization are those which are willing to

integrate business strategy and computer information technology in plying their respective

trades. The use of computer information technology results form them to be able to develop

products facts and make decision fast, ability to have fluid organization structures, able to cope

with the demanding work force and external environment by the rapid development of

innovative approaches and lastly using information system confirms the company’s mission

and vision.

Richard (2014) emphasized that information about students is vital, but time-

consuming to manage and it is essential that the most effective tools to be usedto aid both

staff and students go about their work and studies.

According to the Republic Act No. 10175 known as the Cybercrime Law (2015); The

State recognizes the importance of providing an environment conducive to the development,

acceleration, and rational application and exploitation of information and communications

technology (ICT) to attain free, easy, and intelligible access to exchange and/or delivery of

information; and the need to protect and safeguard the integrity of computer, computer and

communications systems, networks, and databases, and the confidentiality, integrity, and

availability of information and data stored therein, from all forms of misuse, abuse, and illegal

access by making punishable under the law such conduct or conducts.

In relation to this, the input, alteration, or deletion of any computer data without right

resulting in inauthentic data with the intent that it be considered or acted upon for legal

purposes as if it were authentic, regardless whether or not the data is directly readable and

intelligible.

According to Ford (2014), web design, when done properly is a thing of beauty.

Making a website easy for a person to navigate should be the number one goal for any web

designer. Consider usability when designing your website all time, and focus on it intently

when creating the main navigation. The overall look of the sites should reflect who the

company is, and what they do, with absolute clarity. Keep in mind, there must be a reason for

everything on the page or else it probably should not be there.

Websites were used by different organization like the institutions. There are benefits

or advantages in adopting this technology like lower costs, convenience and easy promotion.

It allows you to reach a wider community and potential audiences through internet.

According to the Online-Student Information System of Benguet State University

(2015) it would be a new way of record management and transaction processing that would

achieve efficiency on processing student information. It would be a great help to the

administrative personnel, academic personnel, grantors or stakeholders, and students in

updating, retrieving and generating student data. The main objective of the study was to design

as a standalone student information system of Benguet State University (2015). In order to

achieve the general objective, the following specific objectives of the study were identified: 1.

To identify the information requirements in the existing student information system of BSU.

2. To identify the problems encountered in the existing system. 3. To identify the information

requirements needed. 4. To determine appropriate security and control measures are needed

for student information system. 5. To determine the benefits of a student information system

as perceived by:

a. Administration offices.

b. Parents and

c. Academic offices

d. Students

According to Swartz(2015), SIS process is typically completed into students school

Cambridge Student Information System Richard (2015) emphasized that information

about students is vital, but time‐consuming to manage and it is essential that the most effective

tools be used to aid both staff and students go about their work and studies. The Cambridge

Student Information System (CAMSIS) replaced various student records system used by the

colleges, departments and universities. CAMSIS provides comprehensive and accurate

information about student body and also improves data quality, reduce the administrative

burden dramatically and provides better services to both academic staff and students.

Foreign Studies

Information Systems are a tool to support information management. Information

systems are increasingly being used in organizations with the objective providing competitive

advantage. The information system used by organization can be grouped into different types

such as schedule viewing system, management information system, decision support system,

executive information system, expert systems and office information system. Information

system is used specially on companies and schools to provide information about the school

faculty and company employees. The information society may be virtual society. A Schedule

system helps and provides efficient and reliable services to the students, enrollment personnel

and administration. Moreover, this system improved the process of searching of rooms and

subject schedules.

According to a study conducted by Qrunfleh and Tarafdar (2014), a connection

between supply chain (SC) strategy and supply chain information systems (IS) strategy was

examined, and its impact on supply chain performance and firm performance. The results also

support the proposition that an organization’s ability to use supply chain strategy to support

its core competencies is dependent on management information systems’ functional

capabilities.

According to the study of Albert Huang et al (2014), the functionality of an

information kiosk can be extended by allowing it to interact with a smartphone, as

demonstrated by the Kimono system, and the user interface can be greatly simplified by

“associations” between pieces of information. A kiosk provides information that is relevant

to a particular location and can use valuable context information, such as the fact that a user

is physically standing in front of the kiosk, to tailor the display.

On the other hand, the study of Rowley J. discusses and analyses the latest generation

of information kiosk, Kiosk 21, which features information provision/promotion, interaction,

transaction and relationships. In contrast to their as based predecessors, five case studies of

such kiosk located respectively in an airport, railway station, car rental base, hotel lobby, and

shopping mall are analyzed to demonstrate the way in which the kiosks are implemented to

meet the differing requirements of customers in different contexts.

In the study of H. Yalcin et al (2014), this paper presents the design and evaluation of

a multi-lingual fingerspelling recognition module that is designed for an information terminal.

Through the use of multimodal input and output methods, the information terminal acts as a

communication medium between deaf and blind people. The system converts finger spelled

words to speech and vice versa using fingerspelling recognition, fingerspelling synthesis,

speech recognition and speech synthesis in Czech, Russian and Turkish Languages.

According to John Hop kin’s University (2014 -2015) Homewood (John Hop kin’s

University S.Y. 2014 -2015) prioritize the schedule system resource to be used as fully efficient

as possible. The schedule system provides equitable access to a variety of rooms, time

management and faculty information, as well as to provide the students to search more

information on their own.

A research study conducted by Shuai Yuan, Ahmad Zainal Abidin, Marc Sloan and

Jun Wang from Cornell University of Ithaca, New York on June 2014 entitled “An Interplay

among Advertisers, Online Publishers, Ad Exchanges and Web Users”. The researchers

conclude that Internet advertising is a fast growing business which has proved to be

significantly important in digital economics. It is vitally important for both web search engines

and online content providers and publishers because web advertising provides them with

major source of revenue. Its presence is increasingly important for the whole media industry

due to the influence of the web.

For advertisers, it is a smarter alternative to traditional marketing media such as TVs

and newspapers. As the web evolves and data collection continues, the design of methods for

more targeted, interactive, and friendly advertising may have a major impact on the way our

digital economy evolves, and to aid societal development. It is related to the study because

Google online advertising is one of the internet advertising in which it helps lots of businesses.

Since Internet advertising is a fast growing business, it also help the economy.

Local Studies

According to Evangelista (2014) the university’s Student Information System (SIS) of

Nueva Vizcaya State University is a secure, web accessible interactive computer system that

allows user access to grade reports, transcripts, schedule of classes, and remaining balance for

the semester and register for classes online. Through the system, students would be assigned

a unique identification number. All data to and from the university would use that unique

identifier. The use of individual student records would: 1) Increase the admissions capacity to

follow a student’s progress over time; 2) provide better quality data to drive more enlightened

policy decisions resulting in enhanced educational opportunities for all students; 3) reduce data

collection burden through a web enabled SIS; and 4) as a tool of parents in monitoring the

academic performance of their children.

International Journal of Sciences: Basic and Applied Research (IJSBAR)(2014) The

emphases of the study were web based system which automatically identifies experts in an

area, based on the documents already published on an organization's intranet or part of the

corporate data. The system can be queried like a standard Web search engine, but instead of

producing documents, it provides a list of experts. Each expert listing includes contact details

and supporting evidence. The study revealed that use of structured corporate information

improves the accuracy of finding experts. The above review is related to this paper in terms

of determining a person’s qualification through documents provided by the source which

Mugoya (2016) studied the requirements of Management Information System for

Uganda Prisons Department and found out that it was possible for the department to

implement the system. He was able to set up a prototype which used to test the

implementation of a computer-based information system that added prisoner’s details stored

this data and output various reports of the committed and convicted prisoners with the

information system. The present study is similar to Mugoya’s work as both are using a system

to monitor and update their respective subject’s records to effectively attain their objectives.

In [17]; the paper focused on developing a set of guidelines, which can be followed for

preparing the sites for the various server and computer rooms which will be setup in tertiary

institutions in Nigeria. These guidelines provide a generic framework for various aspects of

Information Technology (IT) site preparation, specifically for setting up server rooms in a

local area network enable environment. The authors aimed to establish a Management

Information System in tertiary institutions, so that information can be extracted from the

operations systems to provide a stimulus for decision-making by the management. This study

is akin to the present study in a sense that it is also intended to provide ways to an education-

related institution for a more reliable and timely decision-making activities.

Pougatchevet and his colleagues [14], studied on the technical aspects of the integrated

management information system for 165 International Journal of Sciences: Basic and Applied

Research (IJSBAR) (2014) Volume 13, No 1, pp 160-177 educational institutions. Authors

practically implemented the e-Management Control and Evaluation System (e-MCES) in the

University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech). The intention of the e-MCES is to provide a

robust yet flexible online tool for the University to measure how well it is able to achieve its

strategic targets, while providing a mechanism for communicating with each staff member

their individual contribution to the success of the institution. The system provides an accurate

diagnosis of the educational reality and an objective assessment of the impact of intervention

policies to society. On the other hand, the information produced by the system may be used

as social control tool to press those responsible for managing the educational system to

produce necessary improvements. This study is very much related to the present study as both

has the intention to improve the educational structure of a country For development of

educational institution’s strategy and policy, timely and precise analysis of information is

essential.

THE SYSTEM

This chapter presents the project description, project structure, project capabilities and

limitations of the study.

A. The existing system

Barangay Parian’s official information system in Calamba is still using a manual process

in generating reports they need submit to particular agencies and have no existing system.

Their disadvantage is that they do not have a centralized and accurate system for storing

records and updates of activities to the residents of barangay Parian.

An information system is computerized database, accept, and store data. This makes

it useful for analysing data and report results to the residents of barangay Parian. The aim

of this study is to develop an information system for the residents of barangay Parian. This

study will benefit the residents of barangay Parian and the people who will manage the

files and information for it will be easy to access the information they need. This will also

lessen the wastage of papers, it is cost efficient for barangay officials, administration, and

agencies. The information of the barangay parian will easily be maintained for any changes

or updates using the proposed system.
