1.1.1 Task: The user’s goal is to learn about what ITA is, how to become a volunteer if they are
interested, and learn about the organization’s philosophies. The user will recognize that the plus sign
will provide more information for each of the headings.

1.1.2 Task: The user’s goal is to understand what the process is to determining how to set up an in-
person interview. The user is prompted with directions to click on each of the steps to learn more.

1.1.3Task: The user’s goal is to know what to expect when attending an in-person interview. The user
will recognize the play symbol on the video player to start the video. In addition to this the user is also
prompted with text to focus on key areas of the video.

1.1.4 Task: The user’s goal is to understand all the steps required to become an ITA member. The user is
prompted with instructions to click on each of the following steps. By doing this the user will be given
more detail on each individual step.

1.2.1 Task: The user’s goal understands that this type of volunteering has a finical comitment. The user
will only have to read the text on this page and click the next arrow to move on.

1.2.2 Task: The user’s goal is to learn/understand the initial cost of becoming a member. The user will
recognize that the plus sign will provide more information for each of the headings.

1.2.3 Task: The user’s goal is to learn about the recurrent cost of being a member. The user will only
have to read the text on the page and click the next button to move on.

1.2 Task: The user’s goal is to test their knowledge on the initial and recurrent cost associated with
volunteering. The user will be prompted with directions to type in each box with the following
statements “initial, recurrent, or both”. Once each box is filled in the user will be advised to check their
answers by clicking the button.

1.3.1 Task: The user’s goal is to be able to state what animals and humans are eligible to become
therapy teams.

● CW1: Yes, the user will know what to do because they can see that there are pictures and
words to click on behind the front photo.
● CW2: Yes, the user will be able to see the tools they need, because they can see the next slide
and the arrow buttons at the bottom of the page.
● CW3: Yes, the tool/control will make sense to the user because the controls are familiar self
explanatory signs.
● CW4: The tool/control will produce an understandable effect because when you click on the
next picture it comes to the front and when they click the next arrow they can move onto the
next slide

1.3.2 Task: The user’s goal is to describe the combined animal and human qualities a team needs to be
successful therapy team.

● CW1: Yes, The user will know what they are supposed to do because there are instructions at
the top that says, “Click on each step to learn more.''
● CW2: Yes, The user will see the tool they need because they are the only red buttons on the
page. It is also the same format as the previous pages in 1.2 of this module.
● CW3: Yes, the control make sense to the user because there are instructions telling them what
to do on the page. The other control is an arrow button and they will know that an arrow will
take them forward or backward to the next step.
● CW4: Yes, the tool will produce an understandable effect because when they click on the red
steps a box will pop up with information about the topic. When they click on the arrow they
will move on to the next section.

1.3.3 Task: The user’s goal is to identify what kinds of animals and humans qualify as therapy
animals/people.

● CW1: Yes, the user will know what they are supposed to do because it gives instructions at the
bottom of the page.
● CW2: Yes, the user will see the tool they need to move onto the next page, which is the arrow
button.
● CW3: Yes, this will make sense to the user because the instructions that say to select the
pictures and the arrow is a familiar way to move to a new section.
● CW4: Yes, this control will produce an understandable effect because when they click on the
picture, they will get feedback about right and wrong answers. The arrow will move them on to
the next page.

1.3.4 Task: The user’s goal is to identify characteristics that make an appropriate therapy animal.

● CW1: Yes, the user will know what they are supposed to do because the instructions tell them
what content to look for in the video.
● CW2: Yes, the user will see the control that they need because there is a play button in the
middle of the box, that will turn to a pause button when there is an actual video. There is also a
volume button and a button to move onto the next section.
● CW3: Yes, the control will make sense to the user because the play, pause, and volume
symbols are symbols that people use when they normally watch a movie.
● CW4: Yes, the controls will produce an understandable effect because it will pause/play when
they press pause or play. They will move onto the next section when they press the arrow.

1.3.5 Task: The user’s goal is to identify characteristics that do NOT make an appropriate therapy
animal.

● CW1: Yes, the user will know what they are supposed to do because the instructions tell them
what content to look for in the video.
● CW2: Yes, the user will see the control that they need because there is a play button in the
middle of the box, that will turn to a pause button when there is an actual video. There is also a
volume button and a button to move onto the next section.
● CW3: Yes, the control will make sense to the user because the play, pause, and volume symbols
are symbols that people use when they normally watch a movie.
● CW4: Yes, the controls will produce an understandable effect because it will pause/play when
they press pause or play. They will move onto the next section when they press the arrow.

1.3.4-5 Quiz Task: The users goal is to identify animal candidates for therapy animals

● CW1: Yes, the user will know what they are supposed to do because it says “Drag and Drop” on
both sides of the T-chart.
● CW2: Yes, the user will see the controls that they need because they are pictures on top of the
t-chart.
● CW3: Yes, they the tools will make sense to the user because they will drag the pictures onto
the t-chart.
● CW4: No, the tool won’t produce an understandable outcome because on the adobe XD I
couldn’t figure out how to make it so the user only drags one picture at a time. If you click on
one picture, it drags all of the pictures into the correct places. This doesn’t make sense because
in normal drag and drop scenarios you have to do one picture at a time.


1.3 Task: The user will be able to analyze content on what makes a person and animal suitable to be an ITA
volunteer therapy team.

● CW1: Yes, the user will know what they are supposed to do because they can see the “Yes/No”
buttons to click on, and it says, “Explain. Type your answer here”.

● CW2: Yes, the user can see the controls they need because they can see the Yes/No controls
and the box where they need to type. In this prototype they will need to pretend type their
answers.
● CW3: Yes, the tools will make sense to the user.
● CW4: Yes the controls will produce an understandable effect or outcome because when they
click on the yes/no buttons they will move to the next page with a pretend answer on it with
feedback.

Task step 1.4.1 Demonstrates how to provide encouragement and support during the interview:

Task: The learner will learn about providing encouragement and support to the animal and
patient

● CW 1: Yes, the system will play a narration that will provide content and then prompt
the user to interact with the picture. There is also a text prompt for the user.
● CW 2 Yes, the mouse will change over hotspots on the image and they will know that
they can click there
● CW 3 Yes, clicking is a normal skill to employ when interacting with digital media.
● CW 4 Yes, upon clicking the system will provide text feedback in the form of additional
content

1.4.2 State the elements of the team skills and relationships assessment:

Task: The learner will watch a video to learn about team skills and the human-animal
relationship

● CW 1 Yes, the system will prompt the user to play the video via audio narration after
introducing the concept
● CW 2 Yes, the video player has a visible play button and control bar
● CW 3 Yes, the play button is a relatively ubiquitous symbol
● CW 4 Yes, clicking play will play the video and the next button will activate when the
video is done playing

1.4.2 a Self assessment of the team skills and relationship:

Task: Perform a self assessment based on the previous video

● CW 1 Yes, there is a text prompt for the user describing the appropriate action
● CW 2 Yes, the pictures are easy to see
● CW 3 Yes, clicking is a normal task to interact with a system
● CW 4 Yes, the system will provide feedback after the user as selected their answers

1.4.3 Describe the visiting scenarios:

Task: Learn about the visiting scenarios

● CW 1 Yes, Upon opening the system will introduce the visiting scenarios topic and then prompt
the user to interact with the picture.

about a visiting scenario
● CW 3 Yes, interacting with this image will be similar to the image earlier in the module

Task: Learn about the 5 expectations placed on therapy dogs

● CW 1 Yes, narration will play upon arrival to the slide about the first image, after the content is
played the system will prompt the user to click through the series of images.
● CW 2 Yes, the mouse changes over the pictures, this will provide a visual prompt to the user
● CW 3 Maybe, pictures are framed, changing the color of the frame may help separate the
pictures better
● CW 4 Yes, clicking on each picture will produce a new audio narration and prompt to click the
next picture in the series

Task: Complete an assessment about the volunteer process

● CW 1 Yes, the case is clearly introduced at the top and the question to the left of the image.
There is a note to the user to select all that apply when answering the question.
● CW 2 Yes, There is text prompting the user to select all that apply when answering the question
● CW 3 Yes, Clicking in the answer box will highlight the box
● CW 4 Yes, after answering the user will be given feedback as to right/wrong and an opportunity
to try again if they are wrong.
