Objectives of the study

This research study was conducted inorder to;

1. Know the effects of the advancement of technology;

2. Identify the importance of technology to students' lives;

3. Understand the impact of technology to the academic performance of the students.

Scope and Limitation

This study is limited to 10 students of Toboso National High School of whom 7 were female and

3 were male who were officially enrolled in Toboso National High School for school year 2019-

2020. The focus of this study is the Lived Experience of Grade 11 on Advancement of

Technology.

Significance of the Study

This study is deemed important to the following:

Students. It will help the students to learn in different ways. It is also a great help when it com to

academic performances.

Parents. They could help their child to use technology for academic purposes. It is importants to

parents as well when it comes on emergency or something urgent. They can easily use the technology

that they have.

Teachers. It will help them to do some new strategies and it can also help the teachers in coming up

with simple activities.

 Government. It is important to government while using the advancement of technology especially

when they have a program that needs to show in public.

Future Researcher. It is important to the future researcher to expand their knowledge in regards of

the advancement of technology.

Definition of Terms

The following terms are conceptually and operationally defined.

Academic Performance. It is conceptually defined as the measurement of student achievement

across various academic subjects. (Ballotpedia) Operationally defined as the performances made by the

students.

Communication. It is conceptually defined qs the ways of sending information to people by using

technology. (Merriam-Webster) Operationally it refers to interaction towards others.

Gadgets. It is conceptually defined as a small device or machine with a particular purpose.

(Cambridge) Operationally it refers to something that is used as a way to communicate others.

Internet. It is conceptually defined as a global computer network providing a variety of information

and communication facilities, consisting of interconnected networks using standardized communication

protocols. (Oxford) Operationally it refers to the instruments used by the students in order to make their

lives better.

Inventions. It is conceptually defined as a thing or an idea that has been invented. (Oxford)

Operationally it refers to something that is created through the use of technology.

 Participants. It is conceptually defined as a person who participates in an activity or event.

(Merriam-Webster) Operationally it refers to the students being conducted in this study.

Recommendation. It is conceptually defined as a suggestion about what should be done. (Merriam-

Webster) Operationally it refers to the part that need to be recommended for them to be aware of.

Reference. It is conceptually defined as the act of looking at something for information. (Oxford)

Operationally it refers to the sources of some ideas or information that are needed in this study.

Setting. It is conceptually defined as a set of surroundings.(Oxford) Operationally it refers to the

place where the study was conducted.

Technology. It is conceptually defined as the use of science in industry, engineering, etc. (Merriam-

Webster) Operationally it refers to as a medium of this study.
