MasterCard HP MIP Installation Guide overview . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1
HP MIP Installation Procedure Checklist . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2
The ‘MasterCard HP MIP Installation Guide’ is required to assemble and install the MIP
equipment at a MasterCard Member site. Installation documentation is packaged with each
piece of equipment and may be used for additional reference.
Technicians must follow the Orange Business Services on-site call procedures prior to
beginning any part of the installation. When the MasterCard OCC grants permission to begin
the installation follow the HP MIP Installation Procedure Checklist steps to complete the
installation.
Tools Required
− Racket with sockets (Metric and SAE)
− Adjustable wrench
− No. 2 Phillips Screwdriver
− No. 3 Phillips Screwdriver
− TORX driver set (up to T25)
The ‘U’ spacing is labeled in ‘1U’ increments on the front and rear columns of the racks. The
equipment is shipped with mounting hardware and installation documentation. The
installation documentation may be beneficial for added reference with this guide. DO NOT
discard any materials until you have accounted for all the required equipment, parts, and
documentation to complete the installation.
NOTE: The rack shelf is shipped as an option when requested by the MasterCard
Engineer. MasterCard Engineering/OCC are to provide guidance to the Orange
technician for the placement location in the rack.
• Install the heaviest equipment first toward the bottom of the rack to prevent
the enclosure from becoming top-heavy.
• Do not extend equipment on sliding rails until you have installed the stabilizer
plate or until you have installed 158kg (350 lbs) of equipment into the bottom
area of the rack for stability. Do not extend more than one piece of
equipment on a sliding rail at one time.
• Locate the top and bottom U-space on the vertical mounting rails. Every
third hole on the mounting rails is numbered to indicate the middle of a U-
space.
• Install the cage nuts on the interior of the vertical mounting rail, and then
install the equipment. To remove a cage nut, squeeze the sides to release it
from the square hole.
2. Position rack at the desired location. Secure the rack in place by using a screw driver or
13mm wrench to lower the leveling feet until each foot makes secure contact with floor.
Adjust each foot to level and plumb the cabinet securely in position.
3. Locate the Rack Stabilizer Plate part number AR7700 with the included mounting
hardware. Attach and secure the rack stabilizer plate to the base of the rack (rack front)
in the holes provided using the bolt/lock washer/washer combination as shown in the
illustration below.
2. Install the first rack PDU in the upper left of the rack by sliding the PDU mounting pegs
into the holes located of the vertical accessory channel directly behind the rear vertical
mounting rails. (see illustrations)
3. Snap the PDU into place by pushing it downward until it locks into position.
4. Repeat steps 2-3 to mount the second rack PDU in the upper rear right of the rack.
1. Locate and un-box the rack shelf, part number AR8122BLK. Mounting hardware and
installation instructions are included in the box.
2. First attach the rails into the rack as shown in step-1 and step-2. Use the mounting
hardware included with the shelf.
3. Next attach the shelf to the rails using the nuts/bolts provided with the shelf as shown
and secure all nuts and bolts.
NOTE: This is a fixed shelf.

3. Un-box the HP Mini Stabilizer kit. Locate and gather the installation hardware and
documentation to install the stabilizer.
4. Align the stabilizer front foot with the front caster plate.
VERSION – 3.0 - 11 -
MASTERCARD WORLDWIDE HP DL380 MIP INSTALLATION GUIDE
5. Insert and partially tighten four M8 x 20-mm bolts with washers, securing the front foot to
the front caster plate.
6. Insert and partially tighten two M8 x 20mm bolts with washers, securing the front foot to
both sides of the caster plate skirt.
8. Use an adjustable wrench to lower the four leveling feet, raising the casters
approximately 6.4 mm (0.25 in) off the floor.
9. Adjust the stabilizer foot to the floor surface or as close to the floor surface as possible.
10. Tighten all bolts to complete the rack and stabilizer installation.

2. Locate and unbox the modified HP server rail assemblies. The box containing the
modified rail assemblies are shipped separately and labeled as ‘RackSolutions 122-
2866 DL380e Rail Kit – Part Number D5Q88A’.
3. Use the illustrations and instructions on pages 14-18 to correctly assemble and install the
HP server into a rack with the modified rail assemblies. Please read the following notes
before beginning the rail assembly.
• The inner rail of each assembly must be separated from the outer assembly and
attached to the server. The inner rail has keyhole type slots that align to
mounting lugs (pegs) on the server chassis. When the inner rail is aligned to the
lugs (pegs) it allows for the rail to be slightly pushed to the front of the chassis
and lock into position.
• The outer assembly is mounted to the designated ‘U’ location in the rack.
– single server (U26/U27)
– dual server (U23/24 and U26/U27)
• The server with the inner rails attached can now be aligned with the outer rail
assemblies, inserted together, and pushed back into the rack. The rail assembly
should lock as you push the server into place.

1. Un-box the HP 4-Port Console Switch. Gather the installation mounting hardware, cable
assemblies, and documentation.
NOTE: The console switch is front and rear mountable. Use the two pre-drilled holes
closer to the front panel of the switch for front rack mounting.
2. The illustration above shows the mounting brackets being attached to the switch for
a rear mount. Attach the brackets in the opposite position to configure and install as a
‘front mount’.
3. Line up the holes in the rack mounting brackets with the holes on the side of the console
switch closer to the front panel for a front mount.
4. Attach the 1U brackets to the console switch using two of the four screws provided on
each side of the console switch.
5. Install one cage nut if required on each side of the rack at the designated position (U28).
NOTE: Racks with square holes require the use of cage nuts. Racks with threaded holes
do not require cage nuts.
6. Secure the console switch to the vertical rails of the rack with the screws provided with
the mounting hardware. The front panel of the switch should be facing the front of the
rack when properly installed.
