Team meeting #1 (10/1/2020):
-All members present.
-We met to discuss and finalise our need statement and list of criteria.
-The output of this meeting can be seen in the pictures below:

Important Design Studio (13/1/2020):
-All members present.
-This was an important design studio in the development of our product because we
brought together all of our ideas and compared them. In doing so we began to rule
out some ideas and narrowed our focus on a few specific devices.
-Throughout this process we combined similar ideas into one product which really
helped in narrowing our focus.
-The below is a picture of our ideas and the process we went through.
Team meeting #2 (16/1/2020):
-All members present
-This is where we talked about the different options we have and finally came to a
decision by ruling out all other options
Meeting Notes:
What ideas can we take out right off the bat?
-We think the Orientation belt idea can be dropped because we feel it may
not have such a huge impact in improving the user’s quality of life
-We think that the force shoes can be ruled out because of the fact that we
may not be able to receive accurate and useful data, especially with the
quality and number of sensors provided.
-We ruled out the ketosis band idea as we feel that the idea is a popular one
and probably has been done/will be done by another group.

Taking into account everyone's interests we decided to go forward with the

orientation headband wheelchair controller. We chose this idea because it is really
interesting and we feel that the patients we are catering to need the most help in
comparison to the ones of our other ideas.
However we feel that there needs to be an
improvement to the design to make it more
effective and comfortable for the user. A
possible idea is to make the headband an
earpiece that comfortably fits on the user.

We discussed about finding an electric

wheelchair to hook our device to for demo:
-After the meeting we searched throughout
the McMaster Children’s hospital but were
not able to find a wheelchair. We therefore
decided to just build a car that we can use to
simulate a wheelchair and get our idea
across.
Team Meeting #3- Prototype Building: 26/1/2020
-Members present: Fatima, Rabbea,
Albert
-During this meeting the team met to put
together a low fidelity prototype to simply
get our idea across to the mentors during
our design review meeting.

Design Review Meeting- 27/1/2020:

-All members present
-During this meeting we briefly discussed our design to our mentors.
-A question we focused on solving during this meeting is whether the device should
be wired or wireless. By comparing the pros and cons of each configuration and
taking the recommendations of our mentors, we decided to move forward with a
wired earpiece.

Mid-project update: making sure all is coming together (31/1/2020):

Team Meeting #4- Keeping on track and delegating roles (7/2/2020):
-All members present
-During this meeting we discussed what was left to be finished, set deadlines for
certain tasks to be completed, and delegated specific roles for the technical report.
Team Meeting #5 (13/2/2020):
-All members present
-We met to go over certain details and make
sure all that needs to be complete is on
track for completion. During this meeting we
set a deadline for when we would meet to
put the car together and finalise the project.
-Below are the meeting notes and the to-do
list we came up with to make sure all was to
be completed.

The Final Stretch- February 10-14, 2020:
-During the last week of the project, all members spent hours on end working in
the design studio to complete the project. The code took a lot of effort as there
were many issues with the sensor being used. During this time of stress, a lot of
dialogue was taking place such as the details of the code and of the prototype. A
great portion of this included the building of the car which took a lot of effort from
all members. We initially planned to make the car out of acrylic pieces, but when
that idea failed, Albert brought in pieces of wood and we built the car and finally got
it to work and respond to the sensor. Below are pictures during this final week.
Design Expo (14/2/2020):
-The design expo was an amazing time! We all enjoyed the expo and it seemed that
the judges and faculty members enjoyed our project as well. The most exciting part
was displaying our car model that simulates a wheelchair to the audience. Below
are pictures of the expo.
Technical Report Meeting #6 (21/2/2020):
-All members present
-We had a team call to go over the technical report and touch up the little details
that we were unsure of. We made sure that each member’s roles were complete or
were to be completed soon.
-All members are to include their links on the document and Rabbea is to go over
them and put them in the right format.
-Fatima is to finish the flowchart for the code and Danny is to review it to make
sure all is included.
-Rabbea and Albert are to finish all engineering drawings and upload them to the
document
-At the end of the meeting we set a meeting on Monday before our design studio to
go over the written report one last time and submit it.
Team meeting #7 - The final meeting (24/2/2020):
-We met for the last time to go over the technical report, make sure all was
complete, and submitted the report.
-This has been an amazing project and all members have been a pleasure to work
with!
