Shortened Director’s Statement

1- Allal El Alaoui
A fragile artist Allal EL Alaoui from Morocco, a spiritual man. He love mystery in space
and in Sahara and for this reason he has realized a short film called The Will in Zagora in
the south of Moroccan desert called Zagora and this film is awarded internationally. He
loves arts, theatre and cinema. His first short film written and directed by himself talking
about cinema. His father has played a great role for his artistic life .He used to take him to
movies .He called him then Rabanova, because he is from the cosmopolitan city called
Rabat. He was fascinated by English language. He studied it and got his bachelor in
English in 1983. For further studies he went to England. He did Drama and theatre arts.
He love to write screenplays because he is a bookworm and has written 5 feature films
and the best of them is the one without dialog called The Journalist. He give master
classes on screenwriting. He direct a documentary film for CCM about SAHARA. He love
history, he realized a Moroccan short film for CCM called The Threshold.

 2- Nawzad Shekhany
German Iraqi Filmmaker Nawzad Shekhany is an award winning director, producer and
cinematographer of “Jean Luc Godard Award”, Golden Fox Award, and Hollywood
International Film Moving Pictures Film Festival Award, and honored the Iraqi cinema
shield by the Iraqi Minister of Culture and the Department of Cinema and Theater in
Baghdad. Recently he won “Best Director” at Alexandria Film Festival. To mention few of
his key works “The Black Massacre” a documentary about the genocide against the
Yazidis, which has been duly entered in the Communications Register of the International
Criminal Court in Hague, the Netherlands. He also developed an idea about a “Shingal”
symphony and directed it. Nawzad Shekhany recently produced and directed a feature
film "Toren", which won several awards at international film festivals, and was nominated
for the Academy Awards “Oscars” in the name of the Republic of Iraq. He has also
chaired several film juries also as a member to nominate best winning films in many
international film festivals. He also delivered various training workshops and
masterclasses in the film industry. Shekhany received several trophies and was honored
in many events. Shekhany focuses on his works to remediation humanitarian issues with
boldness and objectivity.

1. Cinema And Movies

It is announced, via press release, that Cinema And Movies, the production company of
Siham El Alaoui, is opening its fiction department with the ambition to lead a bold and quality
fiction policy for all broadcasters. It’s primary vocation is to reveal and support new talents
both in Morocco and internationally through unitary and series projects are imagined with
authors and directors with a keen eye and in direct contact with the society. At the time of the
digital revolution, and in a context of globalized and very competitive market, Cinema And
Movies will propose a singular editorial line with original and entertaining series.
Cinema And Movies is recruiting Allal El Alaoui at the head of his fiction department. He is a
filmmaker and an international blogger, founded the production box Cinema And Movies in
Kenitra in 2010. He is shooting the documentary film called the dis-advised with Ali oueldah
Bousola in co-production with see network agency.

headquartered in Casablanca, which provide technical advice and services, in addition to the
academic part of the company, which is concerned with organizing and providing training
