Overview
Until end of the last decade most of all competitors copied the “Three phase
design” of ABB (first on the market, many features protected by patents)
Comparable ratings in the lower end market segment (145kV, 40kA, 3150A),
at higher ratings ABB has a unique selling proposition (63kA, 4000A)
Three pole operation only with three phase design, for single pole operation
ABB has (had) a unique selling proposition
Two major competitors have dedicated product at 72.5kV (31.5kA, 2500A,
lack of portfolio of ABB)
Several monitoring devices from different suppliers on the market, only
SMART 4.2 and 4.3 of ABB is a complete system
