Piano Competition
IFI Jakarta, 23 – 26 July 2020

Ananda Sukarlan Award (ASA) Piano Competition aims to find talented

Indonesian pianists who are expected to follow and continue the vision,

mission and artistic achievements of the great Indonesian

pianist & composer who lends his name for this competition. The competition

is open for Indonesian pianists and the jury will consists of

prominent pianists internationally. All rounds will be open for general public.

PREVIOUS WINNERS:
INGE BUNIARDI (1st winner ASA 2008) Doctor of Music Degree in Kansas University in Piano Performing & Master of

Music degree at Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam in piano performing

EDITH WIDAYANI (1st winner ASA 2010) –Doctoral Degree in Piano Performance, Eastman School of Music - USA

RANDY RYAN (1st winner ASA 2012) – Undergraduate Degree in Piano Performance Juilliard School of Music, New

York & Postgraduate in Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University with maestro Leon Fleisher.

ANTHONY HARTONO (1st winner ASA 2014) – Bachelor Degree of Music in piano performance at the Yong Siew Toh

Conservatory of Music – Singapore, Master study in Piano Performance in Sibelius Academy, Finlandia

NO WINNER - ASA 2016

JOSHUA VICTOR (1st Winner ASA 2018) Bachelor Degree of Music in piano performance at the Yong Siew Toh
Conservatory of Music – Singapore, Master in Piano Performance in Hamburg Conservatory, Germany.

NON Competitive Category – for mentally


and/or physically disabled pianists
A participant is allowed to participate in a
maximum of two categories, as long as he/she
meets all the requirements.

Located in South Jakarta, this center is a hub for classical music and dance,

managed by the prominent choreographer who is also AnandaSukarlan's manager,

ChendraPanatan. It also houses the educational program of Yayasan Musik

Sastra Indonesia (Indonesian Classical Music Foundation) as well as the creative base

for AnandaSukarlan, Indonesian prominent composer and pianist while he is in Jakarta.

This 4-storey building has witnessed the birth of masterpieces as a result of

collaboration between AnandaSukarlan&ChendraPanatan: operas, ballets etc, together

with other great Indonesian artists such as writers Seno GumiraAjidarma,PutuWijaya

and also many new rising stars in the Indonesian classical music scene to be performed

nationally and internationally as national cultural assets.
