ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Chapter 1
Introduction
The skin is the largest and one of the most intriguing organs of the body. The skin is composed
of cells, sweat pores and sebaceous glands. For most of us, when we refer to skin care, we mean for
caring for the face. It is true that face, more than any other, needs care and attention. The face
constantly exposed to the elements, even in severe winter when the rest of the body is well wrapped.
Therefore, the face is one of the first parts of the body to shows signs for aging.
Beauty is studied as part of aesthetics, culture, social, psychology, philosophy and sociology.
An “Ideal Beauty” which is commonly admired possesses features from particular culture. Beauty
comes with harmony and nature. May also seen as attraction and emotional wellbeing. Beauty stated
from different eyes according to partial judgement of subjectivity. For a large number of people are
truly dedicated in looking kind of a “beautiful” many varieties of beauty products were made. In terms
of cosmetology/cosmetics. Mostly external on which are applied to the body for preserving, altering
from actual age, colouring, conditioning, repairing and beautifying.
The truth is, the topic of skin lightening and knowledge on what works for pigmentation
problems, is a necessity. A large number of people of all colors suffer from areas of skin that are
blemished by pigment spots. Most people would love to have perfectly even toned skin and do not
want to lighten their natural skin tone. They are merely looking to lighten their blemishes. These folks
often run into very few and very confusing choices when it comes to lightening their dark spots and
scars, due to the current dearth of information on the topic of skin lightening. Many of them used
dubious creams in an effort to lighten these dark spots and end up running their skins or making the
pigmentation come back in a more aggressive form, especially after sun exposure.
Everybody in the world is fond of white skin and is ready to do anything to get the skin whiter.
Even fairer skin people put their best efforts to keep their skin tone whiter. Especially Asians are
fonder to get a whiter and lighter than the natural shade. There are many ways to whiten the skin.
There are plenty of treatments, creams and lotions available for skin whitening, which are meant not
only for those who have darker completion but also even for those who gets melanin a substance in
body, which makes the skin appear darker. Skin whitening creams have agents as bleach, Aloe Vera,
extracts from lemon and all those things which can clear the complexion and can make it whiter. They
reduce the production of melanin in the body, which is the cause of skin darkening.

Raw material
GLUTATIONE SOAP
 Glutathione naturally occurs in the body. Recently, synthesized forms of glutathione
have been added to soaps to whiten skin. In addition to whitening skin, glutathione soap
is reputed to have anti-aging properties and to be good for the complexion.
ALOE VERA EXTRACT
 You only need a few drops of aloe extract to add something special to handmade soap.
It helps moisture the skin. This is a botanical extract and not an essential oil. It does not
have a scent.
COCONUT OIL
 Coconut Oil is generally used around 20-30% of the recipe. Coconut oil is a super
cleansing addition that reduces big, copious bubbles. It is so good at its job that it can
strip skin of moisture. That leaves he skin dry and even irritated.
PALM OIL

Palm Oil and Palm Kernel Oil (PKO) soap benefits include being harder bar with more
bubbles and creamy texture. In my early soap making days, I used palm kernel oil with
olive and coconut oils.
GREEN TEA LEAVES
o Make your soap batch as you normally would, following basic soap making
instructions. At trace, add the lemongrass and eucalyptus essential oils, and add
about ½ to 1 teaspoon of the steeped green tea leaves per pound of oils in the
above recipe that’s about 4 to 8 teaspoon of leaves.
POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE
 Potassium Nitrate is a highly water soluble crystalline potassium source for uses
compatible with nitrates and lower (acidic) Ph. Nitrate compounds are generally soluble
in water. Nitrate materials are also oxidizing agents. When mixed with hydrocarbons,
nitrate compounds can form a flammable mixture.
SODIUM HYDROXIDE
 Also known as lye, is an essential ingredient in the soap making process. When sodium
hydroxide beads or flakes are mixed with a liquid, a lye solution is created. This
solution, when mixed with fats and oils, will cause a chemical reaction called
saponification.
LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL
 A good choice for soap making is lavender 40/42 essential oil or a lavandin, such as
lavandin gross or Landin Aerialist, rather than a true lavender. Lavender 40/42 is
standardized, so that it always smells the same, which makes it a good candidate for
manufacturing.
