Sur-Gard System III

Maintenance Release

Introduction
This bulletin is to announce the release of new line card and CPM firmware for the System
III receiver. This release contains multiple variants of CPM3 and DRL3/DRL3E/DRL3-2L line
card firmware.

New Features
Firmware Includes
Option to control behavior when a valid alarm block is
received with no additional alarm data.

SIA Option #2 [BC]/[1BC]/[2BC]

Bit 2 – Missing Alarm block is outputted as Invalid

0 [Default] – When no valid alarm block is received, the

SG-DRL3 V2.10
receiver will not respond allowing the panel to resend.
If no other valid data is received an invalid report will be
sent to automation/printer.

1 - Ack would be provided and the call is ended which is

required on some non-DSC panels that only send the
account and end block periodically

Firmware Includes
SG-DRL3E V1.29 Modifications to Contact ID handshake to address
SG-DRL3-2L V1.29 compatibility with Verex ISM control panels
Addresses potential issue which could result in false
SG-CPM3 V1.84 (non-RoHS) DC/DC3 trouble notifications
SG-CPM3 V2.07 (RoHS) Corrects mechanism which could result in repeated line
card restoral messages

Compatibility
 Firmware above is compatible with all existing line card and CPM hardware
 Upgrades to these versions should be done starting from the previous version of
firmware. If your CPM or line card is farther out of date, please contact technical
support to ensure you follow the correct steps to upgrade
 CPM3 V1.84 must be used on non-RoHS CPM3 modules, V2.07 must be used on
RoHS CPM3 modules
