PRELIMINARY ACTIVITY
Standard preparation of routinely activities before the lesson proper such as greeting the class,
checking attendance, arrangement of the chairs and etc.
The teacher will flash a presentation on the board about sports trivia. The said trivia will contain
questions which will be answered by the students. The teacher will use the activity as a transition
on to the next lesson.
After the activity, the teacher will then ask the following
questions:
A. Analysis
What did you feel when doing the activity?
What common variables are there?
What can you say about the different trivia in sports?
Overall, what are your thoughts about them?
Are you amazed about what they have achieved?
B. Abstraction
The teacher will then discuss the topic for today – Sports Trivia. The teacher will have a to-
and-fro discussion with the students.
C. Application
Who did who?
The following events had been achieved by legendary athletes. Can you identify who is who and
which is which? Test your skills!
1. Known for his confrontational on-court behavior, what tennis legend finished his career with 77
singles and 78 doubles titles – the highest men’s combined total of the Open Opera?
2. Before playing 6 seasons in Major League Baseball, and playing for 6 teams in the NFL, who
became the first Native American to win a gold medal for his home country in 1912?
3. What Olympic athlete had 65 consecutive victories in the long jump over the span of 10 years?
IV. EVALUATION
Synthesis
The teacher will now give the final activity which is a compilation of legendary athletes over the decades.
They will read the passage and then will be asked to write down their thoughts about the legendary
athletes.

The teacher will ask the students to read in advance about Sports: An Introduction.
