Sketching and Doodling
The act and art of sketching and doodling seems to have gotten
lost in our busy days. Each of which is full of cell phones, e-mail,
computer renderings and building modeling. I wonder if Archi-
tects (and everyone else) remember how to imagine, to daydream
and to let go. I doodle on 3x 5 cards to keep myself occupied dur-
ing poor presentations, waiting for phones , re-booting the com-
puter, waiting for the kids, and other mundane tasks. The follow-
ing collection is not polished art, nor completed thoughts, just
doodles and sketches, time out from the hustle and bustle of our
everyday lives.

Mark Landon is an Architect with over 27 years of suc-

cessful practice and leadership. Project experience in-
cludes Educational, Judicial, and Commercial, Federal
and College and University projects, providing sound
practical experience for both firms and clients. Past re-
sponsibilities have spanned the complete project process
from contracts, programming, project design, design de-
velopment, construction documents, project coordination,
consultant management and construction administration.
Professional involvements have included, LEED Ac-
creditation, and LEED Lecturer, and AIAENY President.
Mark is married to his loving and supportive wife Judith

and has three children, Houston, Abigail and Lilyanna
from a previous marriage. He is living in Upstate New
York where he is currently practicing Architecture.
