 Features Enables unmanned Automatic Applications and Releases of a
Parking Brake mechanism integral to the TMX truck mounted
& Benefits brake assembly.

A Parking Brake Release Cylinder is charged from the 90psi Brake

Pipe pressure holding the Parking Brake mechanisms in an “Off”
position during normal operational train running conditions.

Automatically holds an applied brake application “On” after or during

a penalty (Emergency) brake application when brake pipe pressures
are at or fall lower then approximately <40psi~.

Internal View Upon depletion of Brake Pipe pressure, by a penalty brake

application or over time while a wagon is parked and/or leaks off, the
Parking Brake Release Cylinder will retract allowing a Pawl to engage
and lock the Ratchet Locking Nut from rotation, thus prohibiting the
Threaded Hollow Rod from linear movement holding and
maintaining brakes in a locked, applied position.

Easily retrofit able to wagons with existing TMX by a simple

exchange of brake cylinders or a complete assembly for new
wagon builds.

Cross-Section The Manual Release is operational from both sides of the bogie.

The Manual Release also contains an additional Lockout feature

allowing free bogie movement and transport for maintenance
purposes or otherwise while the bogie is remote from the train
or wagon.

The tri-functional “Manual Release/Manual Lockout and On-Off

Indication” are all operational and visible from both sides of
the bogie.

An upgradeable additional pneumatic “Push Button” release feature

will be available soon for maintaining the Parking Brake engagement
Cardwell until a full re-charge of the train is achieved.
