Reach Out

Open Learning System (OLS) is an organization working for the upliftment of differently
abled children by educating them and creating a space for them in the society. It is a
society for children with autism, cerebral palsy and mental retardation. OLS is making a
worthwhile effort to provide a conducive environment for the all round development of
such children. Working with OLS we would like to take these children from separation to
inclusion by creating awareness for their talents among relevant sections of the society.
We look to channelize our skills and resources to undertake significant developmental
activities.

• Objective

OLS, at present, does not have adequate resources like wheel chairs and other
equipment for these special children. The biggest hurdle that the organisation, at
present, faces is the lack of resources. One of the methods adopted by OLS to
overcome this is by introducing vocational training for these children wherein
they manufacture chocolates, named ChocOLS on a very small scale.

We, being a part of this social cause, intend to generate funds by selling ChocOLS
as well as approaching potential sponsors and donors.
The funds thus generated will be used for the betterment of these children.

• Relevance and Scope of Project

The project aims at raising resources for the society which will be through various
activities like corporate sponsorships, government aid and private donations.

Also, in order to raise additional funds, we intend to sell the ChocOLS at various
educational institutions, corporate food courts and local outlets which will create a
small market for their products.

The success of this project will encourage these children and give them a reason
to smile.

o Approaching potential sponsors and donors for raising funds.

o In addition, raising funds by selling the ChocOLS.
o Utilizing the funds generated for providing basic amenities to facilitate the
learning of the kids.

• Sustainability

The focus of this project is to improve the existing facilities at OLS. We intend to
create a steady demand for these chocolates and helping OLS to setup at
distribution channel, thus helping the organisation with a consistent source of
income.

• Conclusion

We intend to strengthen this organisation with our involvement and skills by

streamlining their activities to increase efficiency and effectiveness. We also
aspire to increase the organisation’s visibility and make a meaningful difference
in the lives of the children.
