Abstract
In this research paper I have come across the problem faced by many
villages in India i.e. shortage of electricity. India is having the huge railway
network connecting almost all the cities and villages of all the states, and with
the help of railway tracks we have developed the system to generate the
electricity from the moving train over the tracks. This system can be installed
underground under the railway tracks where ever there is shortage of
electricity. In India many villages still are not covered with the electricity
supply. So to power those villages with the electricity our system can be the
one solution which can be installed under the nearby railway tracks, and the
system will generate the electricity. The system developed is also capable of
storing the electricity for the later use. The system developed by us is
strongly recommended for the solution to the problem faced by the India villages.
Chapter No.1
Introduction
In this project we are generating electrical power by running the train on the
railway track.
It does not requires any fuel input to generate electrical power as output.
This project using simple drive mechanism such as rack and pinion assembly and
chain drive mechanism.
This project can be simply implemented to any where in the railway track.

Components
Railway track arrangement
Flap
Rack & pinion
Return spring
Freewheel and chain drive
Flywheel
DC generator
Design of base and Railway track arrangement
We have used square section pipe for base and railway track arrangement
.

How it works
When the train move over the track, the flap deflects in downward direction due
to the load exerted by the train.
Converting the energy into reciprocating motion first and then converting this
reciprocating motion into rotary motion.

Working model

Advantages
Disadvantages
• Slight inclination in the flap is required in the track.
• Mechanical moving parts are high.
• High capital cost that may be uneconomic on lightly
• Railway electrification has constantly increased in the past decades
Chapter No.7
Conclusion
It is observed that the electricity power is in great demand. We can used
this system to supply electricity for railway station equipment like light ,fan
,signal light etc. This arrangement can be used in different application like in
foot step or speed breaker at school, colleges and highways for generating
electrical energy. So that the power production rate is increased.
