Defective/ condemed materials like oil seals, machine parts are identified for easy disposal

Cotton waste, emery, polythene, Empty cartons, bins, pallets, trolleys etc. cleared after finishing work
Bushes are to be cleared around the utility areas
Unwanted papers in files & Notice boards thrown away regularly when not needed

All items have clearly earmarked spaces with signs & labels. Floor markings and designated places

Cylinders, drums, bins, spares, lube oils, pumps, machine parts are stored or arranged properly

Similar items are grouped together with proper identification

Only required items, clearly identified and arranged are placed in them at right height of stacks

Overall appearance is orderly and neat , charts and signs are clear .

Tools/tool boxes are arranged and marked

No time wasted in searching or retrieval of materials
Floors are cleaned without dirt or grime.. Is the floor damaged
5.Shitsuke (Discipline) 4.Seiketsu (Cleanliness) 3.Seiso (Sweeping)

Free of dust & cobwebs inside, on top, underneath and behind of equipments / sparesracks are not allowed
to collect dust
Water, chemical, oil spills are not there or are accumulated / neutralized conveniently
Handling equipment, lighting and ducting fixtures and other handling equipments are free of dirt, rust and
grime
Nuts & bolts are clean & not jammed
No leaking roofs, pipes, oil cans etc.

Adequate lighting overall and at each work site, noise low or employees are protected from noise

Acidic fumes or toxic wastes at work place are attended immediately. Toxic wastes are disposed correctly
Safety and other signs are indications are available practice of visual control. Signs are colorful, large and
readable
Everyone wears uniform and appropriate footwear, and appropriate PPEs etc
Zone wise responsibilities are clearly put up, every one is aware of the same and practices it
Everyone is at his place punctually, service is rendered on time
No Smoking . Everyone is aware of and follows Safety rules and knows how to handle fires, leaks,
emergencies etc.
Everyone is trained on 5S and follows 5S Procedures and standards. Overall, there is a willingness and
desire to make it a habit to have excellent housekeeping
Everyone is aware of fire exist route and knows to fire alaram point.
