Q 12) The string of a pendulum is 2.0 m long. The body is pulled sideways so that the string becomes horizontal and
the bob is released. What is the speed with which the bob is released? What is the speed with which the bob arrives
at the lowest point? Assume that 10% of the initial energy is used against air resistance(g= 10 m/s2).
Q 13) What is meant by centripetal acceleration ? Derive the formula for same.
Q 14) A stone of mass ‘m’ is projected with a velocity v at an angle Ө. Find the (a) time of flight and (b) the
maximum range.
Q 15) The position of a body moving along x-axis is given by x=20t2 – 30 where x is in meters, while‘t’ is in
seconds. Find (a) velocity and acceleration (b) the initial position the object.
Q 16) The maximum error in the measurement of mass and radius of a sphere are 3% and 2% respectively. Calculate
the maximum error in the measurement of its density and volume.
