Question 1

Determine the necessary moments to draw the Shear Force and Bending Moment diagrams for the frame.
The supports at A and C are pinned, while support B can be considered fixed. Use the Slope Deflection
Method to obtain the support moments.

MBA = 21.48 kNm, MBC = - 21.48 kNm

AX = 17.7 kN (  + ), AY = 24.6 kN (  + )
CX = 27.3 kN (  + ), CY = 5.41 kN (  + )

Question 2

Determine the necessary moments to draw the Shear Force and Bending Moment diagrams for the frame.
The supports at A, B and C are fixed. Use the Slope Deflection Method to obtain the support moments.

MAB = -1.50 kNm, MBA = 6.00 kNm

MCB = 1.50 kNm, MBC = 3.00 kNm
Question 3

Determine the necessary moments to draw the Shear Force and Bending Moment diagrams for the frame.
The supports at A, B, C and D are fixed. Use the Slope Deflection Method to obtain the support moments.

MAB = 20.6 kNm, MBA = 41.1 kNm

MBC = -41.1 kNm, MCB = 41.1 kNm
MCD = -41.1 kNm, MDC = - 20.6 kNm

Question 4

Determine the necessary moments to draw the Shear Force and Bending Moment diagrams for the frame.
The supports at A, B, C and D are fixed. Use the Slope Deflection Method to obtain the support moments.

MAB = - 194 kNm, MBA = - 150 kNm

MBC = 150 kNm, MCB = 201 kNm
MCD = - 201 kNm, MDC = - 369 kNm

Question 5

Determine the necessary moments to draw the Shear Force and Bending Moment diagrams for the frame.
The supports at A, B, C and D are fixed. Use the Slope Deflection Method to obtain the support moments.

MAB = - 773 kNm, MBA = - 184 kNm

MBC = 184 kNm, MCB = 258 kNm
MCD = - 258 kNm, MDC = - 405 kNm
