Canada Study Plan Guidelines

SOP must be independently prepared in separate paragraphs, in your own words so you can present your unique ‘story’ in an
honest, plausible and accurate manner. Restrict your SOP to between two or four pages in length using lightly lined paper for
ease of reading by your academic admission and student visa assessing officers

Circumstance in the Home Country

Introduce yourself by stating your full name, date of birth, courseapplied and School in Canada.

Record brief details of your education history – from Year 12 equivalent qualifications to your highest qualification (i.e.
Bachelor, Master)

Include benefits of having this qualification in relevance to the course in Canada.

State how your selected course is linked to your previous study experience. If there is no link, explain why you are
seeking a change of discipline and therefore a career change.

If applicable, describe your employment history including the name of your employers, designations you held and the
specific duration with dates of each job you have held.

Include benefits of having this work experience in relevance to the course in Canada.

State how your selected course is linked to your previous work experience. If there is no link, explain why you are seeking
a change of discipline and therefore a career change.

Give honest reasons for any major gaps in your studies and/or employment history – where possible attached
documentary evidence to your SOP

Explain how these gaps help you in choosing your Course in Canada

Value of the Course to the Applicant

Describe why you have chosen Canada as the study destination.

Include specific research about education, industry, curriculum and reputation.

Describe the City or State (i.e. Toronto or Vancouver) you have chosen. Include specific research about student lifestyle.

Express your interest why you have applied to your Education Provider (School) in Canada and include specific details such as
facilities,way of teaching, campus and student approach.

Explain study options in another Canadian University or College, provide reasons for choosing to enroll in your School
instead. (i.e. comparison of teaching methods and content)

Explain why you have chosen your Course including major subjects, and curriculum.

Note: If you choose lower level course such as Certificate or Diploma, explain what is advantage of it than Higher Level
Courses such as Bachelor or Masters Degree

Give study options in your Home Country and in other Country, provide reasons for choosing to study in Canada instead.

Study options details include specific name and course.

 Mention expected Career Outcome in your Home Country and other country EXCEPT Canada after taking the course.

Possible Career Outcome:

*Employment – Specify company, Job Position and Salary per Annum (Prove that this is Evidenced---Based by providing
citations and research links)

*Existing Business – Specify company, job position and projected income per annum. Explain how Australian Degree and
subjects would help your business operations.

*Business Plan – Specify prepared Capital/Projected Income and elaborate the planned operations including staffs, products
and services. Explain how Australian Degree and subjects would help your business plans.

NOTE: Projected Salary and Income should compensate your Tuition Fee and Living Costs.

State any compelling reasons for returning to your home country once you successfully complete your selected course by
declaring:

*That you have a wife/husband and/or children who will be remaining in your home country whilst you study in Australia
(if applicable)

*That you have relatives in your home country.– Specify their occupation

Circumstance in Canada
Prove your financial capacity by specifying Sponsor Name & their Source of Income and provide any history of financial
support previously.

If you will be bringing your spouse/children, explain to what extent they will support you. (i.e. providing moral support
and school preparation)

If applicable, explain who will take care of your children if they are not joint with you.

If bringing school aged applicants, mention where they are enrolled.

Include your Intended Accommodation with specific address and costs per week. Explain transportation method going to
your School.

Immigration History
Provide specific travel details and activities outside your Home Country.

If applicable, provide details of visa grants or refusals.

If no travels, provide a statement about your country and your good character in complying visa conditions.

Your SOP should be ended with the following statement:

I declare that the particulars given above are true and correct in every detail.
