Societal objective: to be ethically and socially responsive to the needs and challenges of
society while minimizing the negative impacts of such demands in the organization
Personal objective: to assist employees in achieving their goals, at least insofar as the
goals enhance the individual’s contribution to the organizational must be met if
workers are to be maintained, retained and motivated
- Performance appraisal: not only does this activity evaluate how well people perform, it also
indicates how well HR activities have been done. Poor performance may mean that
selection, training or developmental activities should be revised or there may be a problem
with employee relations
