Series: Success (week 1)

Goal: to help them understand that to stay grounded with our relationship with
Christ it will keep us track with His will, to have success in life.

 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on
it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in
it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good
success.

Joshua 1:8 ESV

Discuss in the group: Think of stuff you spend more hours and time with everyday and how does it
affect your everyday life decision making?

Success: the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.

Do you know the feeling of failing not finishing anything good, being beat up and
haunted by mistakes in our School, House, Church or even in our relationships? Is it because
we are incompetent?(lack of ability) or maybe we haven’t found the right solution in our life.

Frank Outlaw once said, “Watch your thoughts; for they become words. Watch your
words; for the become actions. Watch your actions; for they become habits. Watch your habits;
for they become character. Watch your character for it will become your destiny.”

God has His great plans in stored for each and every one of us. Everything in life even
success starts with what we feed our minds with what we feed ourselves everyday. In the book
of Joshua He was commanded to keep God’s word in order to have good success in life. The
way you talk, and act defines what inside your mind and we cannot deny the fact that where we
invest and spend our time with everyday will define who we are and what we think.

We will tend to look for success on our own for our studies, career, business,
relationships but tend to fail because we are limited to find good solutions and the worst part is
that we get stuck in doing the same wrong solution and formula of success rather than chaining
our minds and trusting in God’s plan for us.

shall not depart from your mouth, (speak and declare)

shall meditate on it day and night, (Keep in thought and mind)

that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. (To follow
Christ how He guides us everyday)

For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good
success. (results)

It takes full surrender, to humble yourself to a God who guides us and is able to give us
success in every way, to surrender is to allow him to influence you in the way you think, speak
and act for him to guide you through the road of success He has prepared for you.

Application: In our studies, work, church, and relationships invest in our relationship with Christ and His
word for us to fully experience the Success we have for our lives.
