II. Presenting Problem

Alexis is a 29 years old female with a history of depression; presents to the Social
Welfare agency with passive suicidal indications. She put – off her anti – depressant for 1
year. Stressors include recent separation economic stressors, death of her father, re-
entering the workforce, co – parenting her 4-year-old son diagnosed with autism.

IV. Family Background


Alexis Marie Santos, 29 years old, has been separated from her husband for 2
years. She had previously experienced abused from her ex-husband. Alexis had a 4-year-
old son with autism. She is a former church worker as a choir but decided to stop because
of her psychological issue. She’s now currently working as a fish vendor in a market.

Alexis is the first-born child in her family. She describes her childhood happy despite of
financial problems. She finished her elementary and high school in Taguig City. When
she was 24, she decided to marry her partner which is now her ex-husband. A year later,
she gave birth to their child with autism. When her husband noticed that, he started
beating her and decided to end their relationship and did not supporting their child
financially.
Alexis was forced to work for her child. She is now currently living with her
mother who is taking care of her child when she’s at work as a fish vendor in the market.
Unfortunately, in the year 2018, her father was murdered by the unknown holdapers
while selling balut. Because of the incident of her father and the problems she’s
experiencing, she became depressed.
V. Assessment
Alexis is a very caring mother to her child but unfortunately, he is a mistress of
her partner. When their child was born with autism her partner started hitting her and
decided to make their relationship over and not supporting their child financially
regularly. That is why Alexis decided to work as a fish vendor to support their everyday
needs together with her mother Celeste who sew rags and sells in the street. After she
graduated high school she works as a dishwasher in a carenderia of her friend.
