SUMMARY OF THE STORY:

The hero of the nibelungenlied is siegfried

the crown prince of Xanten and a dragon
slayer and fight the dragon fafnir and
become a popular in his country.

Siegfried met Brunhild and fell in love but on the

other hand, he promise that he will visit Iceland to
get brunhild. years later, gunther asked Siegfried
to help fight their opponent Lords and succeeded.
Siegfried met kriemhild and both felt in love . To be
able to get kriemhild’s hand from his
brother,siegfried helped gunther to win brunhild
and went with him in Iceland. Brunhild ,hoping that
siegfried was the one who came as a suitor , but
siegfried doesn’t remember brunhild because of
the drink that gunther gave .Siegfried introduced
himself that he was only a vassal and that gunther
is the one who came for her.brunhilld provided a
challenge for gunther that many men dared to try
but none succeeded and it is the double bladed
axes. with the help of siegfried ‘s tarnkappe and
strength , gunther overcame each and they had a
double wedding ceremony.while making love with
brunhild,Gunther was surprised when brunhild tied
gunther and leave gunther on the floor
.Gunther,afraid that his wife might do the same
thing every single night, asked once again for
siegfried’s help. And so , siegfried went to
gunther’s room while it’s dark , pretended to be
him and wrestled with brunhild . siegfried removed

went out ,allowing gunther to make love with
her.On the other hand, kriemhild started teasing
brunhild. Kriemhild told that she had brunhild’s
girdle thus, insulting brunhild. Gunther got angry
too, and told siegfried that the soldier’s will attack
again.siegfried and gunther engaged themselves in
a game of hunting .siegfried one who won after the
race ,siegfried took a bath and left his armor
hence, letting hagen have the chance to kill him.He
was injured in his vulnerable part and bleed to
death.

Many years later, Kriemhild married Etzel , Lord of

the huns and have a child .his marriage to etzel
was her initial plan to build forces and extract her
revenge. Kriemhild threw a party , where both
hagen and gunther were invited.This gave
kriemhild a chance to work on her plan.she
beheaded his brother and killed hagen as
well.Hildebrand saw that kriemhild did . he could
not accept that only a woman could’ve slain
thousands of people that are invited and didn’t do
anything , he killed kriemhild by himself.
