Objectives:

1. To know and understand the concept of basic logic gates and its
characteristics.
2. To perform and implement the function of basic logic gates
3. To verify and study the specification of every gates when connected or
combined with others and its output.

Interpretation of Data and Result

Based on the experiment, it interprets that each logic gates has its
own characteristics and function. With this, we are able to prove how logic
gates works in a circuit and when different logic gates are combined. Firstly,
we use each gates such as 7408 Logic Gate (AND Gate), 7432 Logic Gate
(OR Gate),7404 Logic Gate (Inverter),7400 Logic Gate (NAND Gate),7402
Logic Gate (NOR Gate),7486 Logic Gate (Exclusive OR Gate) and construct a
circuit which verify the use of it. We also used an LED as an indicator if the
circuit in the breadboard works.

In this figure, we used the 7432 IC (OR Gate) to know the how logic
gates work in breadboard and also to verify if it follows the truth table
where in OR Gate the LED will not light up if the A and B is both 0.
Next, we also do an experiment where 3 logic gates are combined in a
circuit. We use the OR, AND, Inverter to know will be the output if it be
connected to each other like the figures below.

In this figure 2 it shows the circuit of the combined gates such as OR,
Inverter and AND Gate. Through the schematic diagram we are able to follow
and understand the function of each logic gates like when you input is 0 and
the gate is OR gate it will be also zero. In this, it tells that no matter what we
input we must know how or what is the use of each integrated circuit.
Through the help of truth table we are able to know what will be the output
of combined logic gates.

The Figure 3 shows that the combined logic gates works and able to
prove on the truth table using the LED as indicator. In this experiment, as we
perform the circuit in a laboratory we are able to understand how the IC or
logic gates used.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, we are able to understand the basic logic gates which
shows how unique of each other. Through the truth table we are able to
determine what will be the output if we input a zero or one (0-1). Like the OR
Gate where it gives the output opposite from the input, NOT Gate also known
as Inverter which also result as the opposite of the input that’s why it’s called
as the simplest gate. AND Gate is where the two inputs in order for the
circuit to perform. Through this experiment we are able to implement the
basic logic gates where we are able to perform and test the gates to verify
how it works and what its function is. Also, in this experiment we are able to
prove and know what will happen if the gates are combined which helps to
understand if all the gates are connected and that the Output from one logic
gate can be used as input for another logic gate to form combinational logic
gate.
