Revised Procedure for Carrying out maintenance work, wherein

isolation is not required by Operation

A. If PM (PW03) tasks are only visual observations / noting down


the readings.

1. Order will be generated in SAP as per schedule


2. Operation will submit the commitment of scheduled PM under this
category and planning will circulate to concern department i.e.
operation and maintenance
3. Authorized person of concerned maintenance dep’t will release the
order in SAP.
4. Authorized person from maintenance dep’t will go to field and
complete the task.
5. Maintenance EIC will enter the data in SAP.
6. Maintenance engineer will close the order (CNF) on the same day.
7. Refer Table-A for sample examples

B. If PM (PW03) task contains Greasing of equipment /oil


filling/Vib. Measurement, Thermography, Cleaning, Data
downloading.

1. Order will be generated in SAP as per schedule


2. Operation will submit the commitment of scheduled PM under this
category and planning will circulate to concern department i.e.
operation and maintenance
3. Authorized person of concerned maintenance dep’t will release the
order in SAP.
4. Maintenance engineer will inform control room over mail on real
time basis before starting the job. OPNS will give confirmation over
mail. ( LWC mail ID to be used for the communication) . If one
engineer is going to take 3 or 4 jobs in a particular period , all 4
works can be mentioned in single mail.
5. Authorized person from maintenance dep’t will go to field and
complete the task.
6. Maintenance EIC will enter the data in SAP.
7. Maintenance engineer will close the order (CNF) on the same day.

C. Calibration (calibration of instruments) orders (PW06) where isolations


are not required or self-isolation by maintenance engineer will suffice:

1. Calibration orders will be generated in SAP as per schedule.


2. Authorized person of concerned maintenance dep’t will release the
order in SAP.
3. Maintenance engineer will apply for PTW.
4. Operation will issue the PTW.
5. Maintenance engineer will do necessary isolation by self if required.
6. Maintenance engineer will carry out the job and normalise the
isolation.
7. Maintenance engineer will complete PTW (WOCO) in SAP and
confirm the order on the same.
8. Operation dep’t will close the work approvals.
9. Refer Table-C for sample examples

NOTE 1: Printout of permit is not required for the above if work is


expected to be completed in the same day and all PTW (till CNF)
closure procedure is followed in the same day itself.

NOTE 2: Other than scheduled PM if requirement of Greasing, oil filling,


vibration measurement, thermography, Data down loading from
relays arises, job can be done after mentioning the activities in
the register which will be available in control room. SAP
Order/PTW is not required in such cases.
If the notification is generated by operation in SAP, maintenance
engg. will follow the steps mentioned in Item-B nos. 3 to 7.

NOTE 3: Maint Engineer has to give a slip to the person going to work in
the field in case of B, C type jobs to avoid miscommunication /
misunderstanding.
The slip must contain Date , Order number , Description of work ,
Signature of EIC.

NOTE 4: Maint engineer has to explain JSA of works to be carried to the


persons who will actually work in the field before sending to field.

NOTE 5: Field Operator to be informed before starting the job.
