Job Description
Position Title: Director Programs,

Reporting: Chief Executive Officer, CEO

Location: New Delhi

Number of Direct Reports: All ProgramLeads/ Directors

Span of Control: Organization wide role, entire program team

External Stakeholders: Government, Donors,Vendors etc.

Internal Stakeholders: CEO,Technical Director, Project Directors, State Directors, Functional Heads and entire program team

Education:
Essential: Post-graduate degree in public health, policy, public, health financing, law, urban planning,
management, social science, or development economics
Desirable: An MBBS and or MD degree would be an added plus

Years of Experience: The incumbent should have:

Essential:
At least 15 years progressive overall experience out of which at least 5 years plus should have been in
senior management roles in a similar functional context
Prior experience and understanding of the health care sector in India, key sector stakeholders and networks
Proven experience of leading programs/operations that lead to impact at scale and transformational change
Desirable/ Preferable:
Prior experience in the primary health care sector
Experience in program management for large and complex donor-funded projects.
International health and development experience will be an added advantage.
Proven ability to innovate and develop a successful change model for external influencing purposes

Provide direction to program work in the country through the Head of Urban Health Program, Health &
Wellness Centre, Innovation and State leads for effective integration of programmatic and policy work with the
country
Design and lead programs in line with the organization strategy to ensure maximum impact and effectiveness
and transformational change at scale
Encourage and promote empowering and collaborative leadership, effective management, and a culture of
openness and accountability in line with organization values
Represent organization in national and international forums, donor and government related to organization to
influence thinking of other stakeholders on effective delivery of primary healthcare, and build organization 's
reputation as a sector leader
Prepare advocacy and technical brief for presentation at state and national forums
Program management

Initiating and setting goals for programs according to the strategic objectives of the organization
Planning the programs from start to completion involving deadlines, milestones and processes and developing
mechanism to monitor them on a regular basis
Develop OKR, and operational plans of various departments and monitoring their progress against set plan
and milestones
Programmatic and Operational Risk assessment and Mitigation

Promote vigilance in identifying risks and the ways in which risks can be minimized
Provide guidance to encourage greater consistency in the way risk assessment is applied across
Organizations programs
Sector engagement and networking
Identifying, developing proposals and pursue new funding streams that align with organizational strategies
Under the guidance of the Chief Executive Officer, represent organization in relationships with senior decision-
makers to persuasively advocate for establishing organization as a change maker
Develop and strengthen effective partnerships, networks, and alliances among sector stakeholders,
government counterparts, and NGOs involved in primary health-related activities to foster mutual learning and
to identify technology/ innovations that would increase the efficiency and effectiveness of sector performance
Resource management
Supervise all program and project managers involved to provide feedback and resolve complex programmatic
problems
Experience of raising and managing funds from corporates, foundations, govt and bilateral agencies in India
and abroad
Required Candidate profile

Education:
