2. Keep the logo in my creative outputs; to represent my ownership.

"To Make a Boat"

Everything start with small beginnings. It all begins with uncertainty and that is
the fact every creators should accept. In business, it could begins with something that
we can’t sell. Investing time and effort, as well as courage to take a risk, can
eventually let us get the exposure and value we are aiming to gain. To have that
power, designing our tool is a must, which in our case is our creative pursuit. I have
realized that our creative pursuit would be useful in the future. With this, I know I can
learn more about my craft. Aside from the fact that this will serve as collection of my
creative outputs, I know somehow I can earned from it. Of course, this is self-invest
and I am literally starting from the ground.The idea of earning from it means I need to
risk financially.
In my understanding, this is related to a “boat” in the water. Well, this boat
must stay balance on the water. Its either it remained still in the water or it will sink.
The readings says, if the creator working in a project without capsizing the boat, it
means he could protect himself from not going well. Meanwhile, if he fail, then the
boat would sink. In my interpretation, the boat represents my creative pursuit and as
its creator, I am responsible to keep it stable in the water. Sailing the boat means I’m
taking a risk, so its a must for me to have concrete plan how to make it stay,
otherwise it would sink. Aside from balancing it, a boat should also experienced
growth. It means, my creative pursuit must grow too and this is possible with the help
of technology we currently have.
The main thing I have learned from this reading is the idea of ownership. Like, I
must make sure that I owned my creations and I should think of way of how I can be
paid for it. Given my creative pursuit is mainly for photography and videography, I
should make assurance that my rights as the owner is being acknowledged,
particularly to the platform my creations is uploaded. Thus, I must assure that I will be
benefited to the success of what I have created - like own a portion of the profits of
my work. On the other hand, it also find out the advantage of being a freelance than
working for a company. The fact that the company will eventually own of what I have
make give me thoughts that it is unfair for me as creator.
