Project management is not just about managing a whole team and getting work done.

Project management is a super mix of certain qualities that make any project manager work

wonders along with his team. World is full of great leaders and inspirational project managers

but for me Steve Job the apple genius is one of the great sources of inspiration for project

manager. It was the Steve jobs behind Apple Inc. enormous worldwide recognition as a

technology brand because he inspired his teams to provide that kind of technology gadget.

Steven Paul Jobs born on February 24, 1955, in San Francisco, California. Growing up in

Mountain View, in the middle of Silicon Valley, he showed behavior difficulties even though in

elementary school. I his fourth grade, Job’s teacher used to induce him with toffee and cash so

that he can limit his performance. Thinking about these old years, Jobs narrates that if that

conduct sustained, it might “absolutely have landed me in jail” (Leander, 2008)1.

The school life was so easy for this genius person, he was able to skip is grade 5h while

jumping to the higher grades. Though he also fund his middle school a chaotic scene for him, but

he managed to convince his parents to move to another city Lo Altos where he managed to found

a good middle school for him. This new area was full of innovative and technology creative

people. He saw very young startups around. Steve jobs had an introduction to technology gadget

when he was in high school. He was a man of action and he worked even in his garage to work

with his small team. As a project manager he had an experience of managing small to large

teams varying from a simple table board to making of complex IOS.

Take responsibility end to end

Steve jobs have tremendous project management qualities because from he always took

the responsibility of his team from sat to end. Jobs knew the best way to make things work out

from a team was to back up from start to end. As a project manager Steve jobs took the

responsibility of hi products from start to end keeping user experience at their top priority. Steve

jobs also did an inspiring job of connecting his vision with user experience and delivering all

these requirements to his team. Can anyone believe that without a responsible project manager

any team can develop a world famous product like Apple iPhone? (Todd A. 2008)2

Motivate your team

Motivating your team with philanthropist approach and with doing innovative

experiments were two main aspects of Jobs life. He was a great project manager because he kept

his team motivate from start to the end by providing them with equal observation and

enthusiasm.

Put products before profits

When working with his teams Jobs never spoke profit maximization rather he focused on

making great things. “Don’t worry about price, just specify the computer’s abilities,” he told the

original team leader. (Isaacson 2012)3 As a project manager he was always a man of innovation

and this is the reason why he did a job of making visionary things regardless of profit

maximization. For a successful manager the win of his team is his own win. The motivation that

kept his team working for noel products with technology plus user focused systems was the

vision and innovative nature of Steve jobs.

Give your team a push for perfection

During the expansion of almost every product he ever created, Jobs at a certain point “hit

the hiatus switch” and went back to the sketch panel because he fingered it wasn’t flawless. At

many points he sent hi engineers back to make things ultra-swift for people. Engineer decreed

that achiness wee tightly sealed. And they said that no one will see the Pc board. Jobs reacted

that as his father were, make it as fascinating as it could be. And engineer did that.

Conclusion

Steve jobs as a project manager was extremely focused, team engaging personality and

goal oriented. He always made his team think out of the box, manage deadline and improve the

concept of innovation.
