CTS2 HMU - Trailing

In case of trailing, the oil circulates


through the by-pass circuit (in red).
The by-pass valve (15) is open in the
absence of pressure, allowing a short
circuit between the two actuator
chambers.

1. Remove the packaging and place the CTS2 near to
the rail.

2. Remove the 1st switch sleeper and the old switch
machine. Dig into the ballast, under the 1st sleeper.

3. Make a pit of 60÷70 cm under the track

4. Mark out the tongue and the stock rail

5. Put the fixing plates and
the proper screws-nuts out
of the work area.

6. Lift the CTS2 using beam and belts (>1000Kg)

7. Insert the CTS2 into the dig under the rail
(NOTE. It’s better to insert the machine from the Motor Unit opposite side)

8. Push the machine to the right position.
Remove 1st belt and reposition it inside the rail.

9. Center the machine under the rail moving the 1st
belt

10. Install the stock rail support inserting , M20 screw.
Insert the insulating parts between support and stock rail.

11. Appling Loctite 243 insert the vertical M18 screws
without thigthening completely. Fix the right position of
the CTS2 using the plate with teeth.

12. Check simmetric position of the CTS2 on
the plate with teeth.

Tight the 4 vertical M18


screws with 284 Nm torque
load.

13. Tight the nuts on the horizontal M20 screws.

14. Install 4 fixing plate with the related insulating parts. Apply
Loctite 243 and tight the screws with a 132 Nm torque. Install
the plan bearing under the tongue.

15. Mount the clips, inserting enough shims to execute the
operation and obtain electrical detection, use the red line as
reference

16. Connect the Motor Unit cable.

17. Install the slider rod’s clamps. Insert enough shims
between clamps and tongue; the hole of the vertical
M12 screw has to be uncovered 2 mm by each side.

18. Perform shims test: inserting a spacer of 2 mm between the
stock rail and the tongue, electrical detection is obtained, electrical
detection should not be obtained inserting a spacer of 4 mm
(distances are customizable).
