Job Summary
The Senior Estimator forms part of the Leadership Group and will play a key role
in the development, roll out and maintenance of the companies Estimating
Procedures and forms, plans and specific training programs for staff within the
estimating department of The Group.

Job Description
Estimating and Cost Planning:

Prepare and implement all necessary estimating forms required to ensure compliance to Estimating Procedures.
• Conduct weekly Estimating Meetings on client's tenders to ensure tenders are on track to meet required submission
dates and conform to client's procedures and ensure individuals working on tenders have/are:
Assessing and reviewing tender packages from the client/architect
All data required in preparing lump sum, construction management and cost-plus detailed estimates has been
gathered.
Qualify all construction issues relating to plans, construction drawings, and specifications, and quantification of
prime cost items.
Liaising with your direct line manager in regard to pricing, methodologies and programs.
Undertake as required and review prepared trade scopes of works, prepare and price bills of quantities, trade
measurements and material takeoffs (MTO)
Evaluation and/or development of construction labour, material rates and evaluation of subcontract cost
estimates and proposals.
Final review with the Bid Manager and members of the construction team as may be required of the tender
prior to submission.
Oversee and manage the submission of all post tender enquiries
Continually review estimating practices and recommend ways in which estimating processes and systems can
be improved.
Train, mentor, coach and supervise all staff in your team.
Establishes estimating network with other estimators in the same market The Group operate in.
Continue to contribute positively to your working environment, your role and to the company as a whole and
participate in extracurricular activities as direct by the Bid Manager.
Advise the Business Development Manager of strategies for winning jobs and manage departmental records for
historic reference.
Manage and prepare tender estimates and on-going negotiations with clients for final approval by the Business
Development Manager.
Manage and prepare Cost Plans for Design and Construction Projects as required.
Review variations (when necessary).
Prepare submissions, schedules, reports and other correspondence associated with the company’s tendering
activities.
Attend and lead meetings as required.

Management Skills
Knowledge of WHS pertaining to the Design Phase of a Project JD
Has background with NSW/Australian Market jdealino325@gmail.com
Experienced in performing all aspects of cost estimating
Ability to read, interpret and comprehend all tender documents including specifications, drawings, schedules, Data
Sheets, etc.
Sound understanding of construction contracts and associated commercial field construction experience is
desirable
Assessing labour productivity and labour rates/ costs
Experience working on high end mid-tier residential developments over $10m
Proficient at using and generating estimates through Cubit / Global Estimating and producing documents with MS
Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Qualifications:

Degree in Building, or Construction Economics or Estimating

Possess 10 years of experience
