Brompton Introduction

Brompton Bicycle is a British manufacturer of folding bicycles based in Greenford, London

In July 2016 Brompton developed an e-bike named the Brompton Electric
The rising fuel costs and the perception of e-bikes as an efficient and eco-friendly commute
option have driven the expansion of the global e-bikes market
Massive shift in consumers who are fitness conscious
Previous studies have found that the barriers to cycling are: safety concerns, the weather,
inconvenience, lack of fitness, lack of time and too much effort
E-Bikes have allowed some people to overcome those barriers to cycling
Elderly/less fit people are now able to cycle with less effort and reduced journey time
Research has found demographics of e-bike users: populations of people who tend to cycle
less, such as women, older adults, people with physical limitations and people with longer
distances to travel (MacArthur et al (2014))
Most e-bike sales are in Western Europe and sales are consistently increasing in Europe
E-bike wine tours have become popular in the last few years especially in the south of
France
Offer day tours that make cycling wine tours accessible for the elderly/less fit/disabled
