FDRE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE, DEFENCE UNIVERSITY

COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING

MOTOR VEHICLE ENGINNERING DEPARTMENT

SHORT TERM TRAININGS

1.1 Fundamentals of Automotive power train and under-chassis maintenance

1.2 Objectives of training

To deliver updated quality training mainly on road vehicle’s power train and under-chassis
systems maintenance which fill skill gap of our clients and upgrade their performance to be
competent enough in fundamental knowledge and technical skill. Specifically

 To upgrade basic knowledge and maintenance skill of trainees on specified area

 To introduce updated technology of the systems and related maintenance techniques
 To enhance mutual benefits between concerned institutes and college
 To deliver community service by prioritizing identified target groups; like disables,
females and SME and newly established TVET clusters

1.3 Description of training

The training focuses on essential and critical aspects based on National Occupational standard by
considering recent technology advancement of the systems and maintenance techniques in the
sector. Totally the training will be conducted for 80Hrs. (Eighty-Hours) mainly focusing on Lab.
Activity oriented (80% practical based) to enhance technical skill of trainees and (20%
knowledge based) about fundamentals of the systems, maintenance techniques and to introduce
recent technologies. This training is helpful for new trainees for employment, employed (after
training or experienced by non-formal training) technicians, TVET trainers, accredited and
recently nominated national COC assessors and university student. Hence our clients can be
various industries including METEC, local garages (Government and private), local TVET
colleges, local universities, institutions and individual who require skill gap training to concerned
candidates for National COC certification, National and regional COC centers to upgrade
performance of assessors for accreditation and any institutes for mutual benefit with the College.
