1.Introduction
The JZX series – combined inner circulation separator can process massive
raw materials, which adopts inner and outer circulation program in the machine.
The device can collect the finished products, which makes the whole system
simple and practical. It also deducts the thick powder separator system which
used to address large amount of gas and dust, thus the new system is more
competitive in practical. In the production cycle, the machine is widely used in
cement and raw material circle flow grinding system. It also can be used as
classification equipment to identify other non-metallic material.

The JZX1500 powder separator is formed with feeder pipe assemblage, gearing,
trestle, rotator, casing, fine powder collecting vessel, band lock air damper and
lubrication system. Figure 1 shows the general structure of the
separator.

3.1 Gearing
The gearing fitting is made up of horizontal motor, d-axis gear reducer and elastic
coupling, etc. The motor adopt frequency control of motor speed, which motor uses
AC frequency converter to change the rotational speed, in order to shift the rotational
speed in a wider range. Through the elastic coupling and motor, the reducer can
connect with the headstock, which can support the whole gearing device onto the
driving bracket. The lubrication of the reducer is adopting immersion mode.

3.2 Rotator
The rotator body part combines spindle and rotor. The reducer which gets the power
from the motor turns around the rotator part. In order to keep the bearing in seal and
protect the spindle from abrading, the hub sleeve has been set up to protect the spindle,
as well as providing abrasion resistant ceramic on the outside of sleeve. The hub
sleeve fixes with thermometric components, so that to monitor the heating
temperature of the bearing. The upper part of hub sleeve vertically hangs on the
bracket, and the underneath part is fixed and tightened by drag link and fixing ring.
While the upper part of the spindle is connected by the clutch and reducer, and
underneath part is linking with the rotor. Spreading plate and sealing ring set up on the
upper side of the rotor.
Note: The rotor has been processed the precision balance by dynamic balance
machine. To ensure the stable of normal operation, please do not knock down the
rotator without consultation.

3.3 Casing
The casing is a weldment which is made by armor plate and profile steel. The
distribution plenum in the upper part of the casing is equipped 4 units for each of the
feed inlet and outlet of the fine powder which link with feed-in pipe components and
fine powder collecting vessel separately. Striker plate is equipped underneath of the
distribution plenum. Inside of the mid casing, it has been installed with the guide
vanes which are evenly separated, in order to help air blow into the separating
chamber symmetrically. After a slight adjusting the position, coarse powder
generating hopper in the bottom end of the casing should woald with the air inlet in
site. There are preserved holes on the casing for maintaining and overhaul.

3.4 Lubrication System


The main axis of the separator adopts the thin oil lubrication. XYZ – 16G is
recommended for lubrication station. The lubrication station is composed with oil
tank, electronic control cabinet and the instrument board. The oil tank is equipped

with gear pump, double barrel net chip oil filter, tube type oil cooler, electric heater,
pressure regulator, magnetic back oil filter, thermostat, tank oil temperature signal
contactor and oil tank signal contacts. There are 2 gear pumps, one is for working, and
the other is for spare. When the system pressure falls below the set point, the spared
pump starts working to supply enough oil to the main engine continuously. The
double barrel of oil filter has two sets of filter cartridges. Same as gear pump, one for
working, the other for spare. When the working filter needs to be changed, shifting
the valve to the spare one to continue working (shut down the previous filter set). It
can realize the problem of changing filter element without stopping the machine.
We have set up oil outlet pressure gauge, filter cartridge pressure gauge, duplex and
double-tube pressure gauge and electro connecting pressure gauge on the instrument
panel. Electrical control cabinet is installed with horn-blowing malfunction alarm, oil
tank thermometer table, spared temperature measurements for other lubricating points,
indicator light for oil level, temperature and pressure, and trouble light. It is
recommended that lubrication station can apply N-68 anti-wear oil, and the reducer
applies to the ISO VG320 mineral oil.
Note: Based on different collocating distribution, the external lubricating pipe,
piezometric copper pipe for lubrication station, and cable used for connecting oil
temperature and bearing detectable signal will not be provided.

4.Principle of Operation
The mixtures of materials are fed in from the feed inlet, and then go through the
feed-in pipes which divide the materials into four paths, finally reach the upper part of
the mid-casing. When the materials fall onto the spreading plate, with the rolling rotor,
it improves the distribution of the materials more evenly on the plate and equally
spreads the powder all around, then hit onto the striker plate. The clouds of material
or thick powder are in suspension and dispersed state which can be executed the
initiative separating. Due to the gravity, the materials will drop into separating
chamber which is between wind leaf and the rotor in dispersed state. Under the
interaction of pneumatic separation and rolling rotor, the dropped powder/grains will
suffer gravity, wind power and spinning centrifugal force that lead the smaller grains
will move into the rotor with the airflow, pass through the distribution plenum, and
from four air outlet entering into the fine powder collecting vessel. The fine powder
collecting vessel will separate most of the finished product. After separating most of
the finished materials, the airflow will exit from the outlet and enter from the
circulating fan into internal circulation. While the unqualified thick powder will partly
fall back into the endocone. The rest will pop out of the separating area, drop down
along with the inwall of the external cone, which will be re-washed by updraft.
Together with the thick powder in the endocone, all of the thick powder will fall into
the coarse powder generating hopper. Then it will be educed from coarse powder
locking-wind valve and passing to the mill to re-process.

5. Installation

5.1 Preparation
5.1.1 The user should follow the provided installing blueprint to study the function,
structure and application requirements
5.1.2 The user should check that all product in the cases are on the list. Make sure
all of accessories is clean and well in condition.
5.1.3 Check and Mark the directions of 0°, 90°, 180°, 270°on the floor slab of the
powder separator, as well as the datum line (show in figure 2)

5.1.4 Pre-install armor plate onto the corresponding reference location, calibrate
central dimension on each location, the deviation should not over ±5mm. Then fix the
pre-installed armor plat.
5.1.5 Seal all of the flanges. Assemble each part of the casing by using asbestos
yarn or board.

5.2    Installation of the casing
5.2.1 Welding the pedestal of the separator onto the pre-installed armor plate. Keep
the center of circle of the pedestal in the same concentricity with the center of the
foundation.

5.2.2 Locate the sprocket holes on the flanges of upper and under parts of the
external cone, and joint the upper and under parts with bolts. Insert the under part of
the endocone into the upper part.
5.2.3 Hoist the external cone onto the pedestal which has been welded to the
pre-installed armor plate. Adjust the external cone, in order to keep the deviation
between the top surface of external cone and horizontal is within ±2mm. After
adjustment, spot welding the external cone and the pedestal (just leave it stable, do not
need to fully weld).
5.2.4 Insert the endocone into the external cone, adjust the upper side of the
endocone, leave the top surface of the upper side of the endocone is 20mm higher
than the top surface of external cone. Then equip the bolstering in the endocone, and
spot weld it with the inwall of the external cone (just leave it stable, do not need to
fully weld).
5.2.5 Hoist the upper casing to the upper side of the cone, slowly rotate the upper
casing, leave the flange under the guide blade correspond to the sprocket hole on the
flange of the upper part of endocone. Then slowly put the casing down. Joint the
guide blade with the endocone firmly with bolts.
5.2.6 Keep hoisting the upper casing, the staff should enter from the access door on
the down side of the external cone, cut off the bolstering in the endocone, slowly
rotate the upper casing, in order to keep the lower flange on the mid-casing match
with the sprocket hole on the flange of the upper part of endocone. Then slowly put
down the upper casing, joint the mid-casing with the external cone firmly with bolts.
5.2.7 the staff enter from the access door on the down side of the external cone,
install the bolstering in the endocone, fully weld the bolstering with the inwall of the
external cone.
5.2.8 Excise the joint of external cone and pedestal, hoist the casing up about 50mm,
then slowly rotate the casing, leave a 13°included angle of the horizontal between the
upper air outlet of the casing and locating centerline of the foundation by all means.
Meanwhile, keep aware of the inlet and outlet of the lubricant on the casing which
should roughly point at the lubrication system.
5.2.9 After calibrating the location, slowly drop down the casing with adjustment,
leave the deviation between the top surface of casing and horizontal is within ±2mm.
Then weld the pedestal with the outside of the cone solidly.
5.2.10 Find out the flange on the blast pipe and the sprocket hole on the lower flange
of the under part of cone, then joint the blast pipe with the under part of the cone.
5.2.11 Rotate the under part of the endocone, keep the centerline (on the slant
material outlet of the downside endocone) in the same plane with centerline of
theΦ1000mm hole on 15.5m flat surface. After fixing, the staff enters from the access
door on the endocone, fully weld the upper with under part of the endocone together.
5.2.12 Tapping a hole on the external cone at the corresponding direction of the
centerline of the slant material outlet of the endocone, then connect the spigot and
socket pipe and bend connector, and insert the two into the pipe liners. Joint the spigot
and socket pipe with the slant material outlet of the endocone, adjust the position,
weld the pipe liners of the spigot and socket pipe to the casing of the separator.

5.2.13 Fix the loose flange on the spigot and socket pipe with the flange on the pipe
liner of the spigot and socket pipe by bolts, then weld the flange with the pipe liner.
5.2.14 Connect the bend connector and coarse powder generating hopper, tapping
a hole on the exterior of the air inlet pipe. Then weld the coarse powder generating
hopper with the hole on the exterior of the air inlet pipe.
Note: During the tapping process, avoid of breaking the inner tube of the air inlet
pipe.
5.2.15 Hoist the bracket (with engine and reducer) onto the top of the separator, then
base on the halt-coupling of the principle axis, adapt the axes of reducer and principle
axis coaxially. Finally, after adjusting the centre, fix the bracket with the stilt.
5.2.16 Find out the corresponding marks on the flange of the air inlet on the cyclone
tube as well as the flange of the air outlet on the separator. Put the cyclone tube into
the corresponding foundation.
5.2.17 Connect the cyclone tube with the air outlet of the separator by bolts, then
based on the foundation location, weld the pedestal of the cyclone tube with the
cyclone tube.
5.2.18 Install the feed-in pipe components, then connect them with the feed inlet on
the upper part of the casing by bolts. Finally install the discharge valve.

5.3 Installation of lubrication system
5.6    Installation of lubrication system 
5.3.1 Based on the construction layout, place the lubricating-oil station onto the right
place. We suggest that the lubricating-oil station should be on the stull of the
installation site or on the bracket which is 1000~1100mm higher than the stull, in
this case, a 1000~1100mm height oil drip pan should be place on the installation site.
5.3.2 Install the instrument board near the station and place it where it is easy to
observe the data.
5.3.3 Install the piezometric oil pipe. Cut off the copper pipe based on the
prescriptive length, then yoke both ends by bushing with nuts. Enlarge the orifice into
tapered opening. After it shaped, connect it with the instrument board and station in
the corresponding location.
5.3.4 Install the lubricant pipe. Cut off the copper pipe based on the prescriptive
length, then use the V-thread screw to shape the thread on both ends, connect the oil

inlet of the separator with the outlet of the fuel station and the oil outlet of the
separator with the inlet of the fuel station (more details in figure 3).
Note: The inside of all lubricant pipes should be cleaned by high pressure water
before installation, and blown by compressed air for using.
5.3.5 install the cooling pipe for lubrication station. The inlet and outlet should be
equipped with valve. Pipes should meet the requirement of water pressure 0.4Mpa,
and no leakage.
5.3.6 Install the control housing, connecting power line and signal-line.

5.4 Installation of other fittings


5.4.1 Install the NON-STD pipeline between the separator and fan.
5.4.2 Install the control cable and signal-line
Note: The flanges among the installation part should be sealed by asbestos yarn or
asbestos pad. Pay attention to the places with ceramic chips. It is forbidden of
collision.
5.5 Adjustment
5.5.1 Adapt the bottom of the adjusting shim (or the main bracket adjusting shim) of
the hub sleeve, make sure the axial clearance of the seal circle and seal groove is
within 8±2mm
5.5.2 Adapt the bottom of the adjusting shaft of the distribution plenum, in order to
keep the clearance of the seal circle and seal groove approximately even (more details
in figure 4).

5.5.3 Adjust the axial clearance and axiality of the couplings among the output shaft,
the reducer and spindle. Keep the axial clearance is between 2~5mm, and the
axiality of two shafts is within 0.1mm.
5.5.4 Adjust the coupling between the motor and reducer, take half of the coupling as
benchmark to correct the excircle and transverse plane of the other half. Make sure
axial deviation is within 0.15mm, radial deviation is within 0.15mm, the clearance of
axial is between 1.5~5mm
Note: After adjustment, the verticality of the spindle should be 0.1~0.2mm/m

6.  Testing operation 
6.1    Preparation   
6.1.1 Clean up the workbench, clean away useless stuff, especially check out the
rotor.
6.1.2 Detect and screw down all of the connected bolts, particularly the bolts in the
pedestal of the casing and the nuts on the drag link of bushing ring.
6.1.3 Rotating the reducer by hand, the turning rotor should not be clamping
stagnation. Otherwise, stop testing operation and eliminate the problem.
6.1.4 Turn on the main engine, the spindle should be in clockwise rotation. When it
stops, the seal circle and seal groove should not have the impact sound.
6.1.5 Turn on No.1 and No.2 oil pump motor to check the rotation direction of the
motor (the control knob of the oil pump should dial to ‘single pump initial control’.
6.1.6 Add clean lubricant into the reducer, the level of standardization should refer
to FLANDER pattern. Temperature of oil should keep consistent with ambient

temperature, the fuel head should be within the scale label of the oil tank.
6.1.7 Fill up clean lubricant in the fuel tank of lubrication station, the level of
standardization should refer to the instruction of the lubrication station. Temperature
of oil should keep consistent with ambient temperature, the fuel head should be within
the scale label of the oil tank.
6.1.8 Start the station, slowly open the fuel supply valve, lead the lubricant slowly
move into the bushing from the inlet pipe. In order to keep the correctness of the
indicator reading, loose the nut on the pressure testing oil pipe to release the oil and
drain out the air. Normal pressure is 0.2~0.3MPa in the station (vertical height of oil
supply should not over 4m).
Note: When the oil temperature is below 37℃, firstly dial the control switch of the
heater to ‘manual’. Set it back to ‘auto’ after temperature increased; leave the heater to
work and control temperature automatically. When the oil temperature is over 43℃,
dial the control switch of the heater to ‘Middle’, turn on the cooling system to start
cooling cycle, water temperature should below 28℃, and the quality should be
purified plain water.

6.2    Testing without loading 
6.2.1 Start up the oil pump
6.2.2 Start up the motor of the spindle
Note: The AC frequency regulator should be turning from low to high, but it cannot
start under exactly 0HZ or 50HZ. We suggest to start the motor with 20HZ~30HZ
frequency, gradually increase to the appropriate mode.
6.2.3 Under the full speed of the rotor, keep running for 2-4 hours with no-load, the
machine should be fulfilled with the following requirements:
A. Stable in performance, normal vibration and noiseless
B. Temperature rising of each shaft should be under a variable of 40°, keep the
lubrication circulation of shafts in the bushing ring goes smooth.
C. Lubricant should be kept clean and without any smuts, check the transparency
cover on the bottom end of the bushing ring has no oil leakage.
D. All of monitoring and inspecting equipment as well as the controlling system
should react accurately and sensitively
E. Observe, detect and record the current fluctuation state, electric current should not
wave wildly.

6.3 Testing with load
6.3    Testing with load 
Only after the no-load running is qualified, the loading test operation can be executed.
Keep running for 4 hours, the machine should be fulfilled with the following
requirements:
A.Temperature rising of each shaft should be under a variable of 40°
B. Each joint and seal part should be well and strictly sealed without any air leakage
or dust leakage.
C. Electric current of the electromotor goes on well, current fluctuation is under
10%.
D.All instruments works normal.

Note: After a 24 hours with-loading operation, the machine should be stopped for a
comprehensive review. Inspect the inside abrasion, tighten all of the bolts. Check the
ceramics whether they are sticky enough.

7.Operating and Maintaining


7.1 Operation of Powder separator
7.1.1 Push the heater in the lubrication onto the right position, start the oil pump.
7.1.2 Turn the AC frequency converter onto an appropriate position (about 29HZ,
12% galvanic current), start the motor of spindle, slowly increase the frequency onto
the top.
7.1.3 Inspect the change of the thermometer on the shaft, the change of the
frequency indicator gauge, the change of oil temperature in lubrication station, as well
as the change of oil outlet pressure and oil filter pressure. Once it obtains abnormal
condition, please stop the device.

7.2    Logical starting and stopping sequences of the system 
7.2.1 Turn on the dust catcher and the fan system (turn up the fan gradually on the
adjusting plate), turn on the combined powder separator as well.
7.2.2 Turn on the handling equipment of the grinding mill, turn on the grinding mill,
and turn on the feeding equipment of the grinding mill
7.2.3 stopping sequence is the reversing sequence of the starting
 
7.3    Testing of system 
7.3.1 Adjust the fan of the powder separator to control the lift of the air door, in order
to make sure that the maximum diameter of the fan breeches pipe is around 13~
16m/s, or to keep the total air volume in 90000~110000m3/h
7.3.2 When the air volume in the system stay stable, adjust the speed of rotation of
the rotor in the powder separator. Increase or decrease the speed can increase or
decrease the fineness of products.

7.4 Operation and Maintenance


7.4.1 Check out point during the running period:

8.Examination and Repair 
The examination and repair should be performed when the machine fully stopped.
After all of the materials drop down within the machine, you can open the access door.
Please place a visible notice board with ‘Under construction (repair)’on the electric
switch cabinet or controller. Take it off after finishing the work by the same person. It
is absolutely prohibited to drive without permission.
In order to make an easy re-installation, it is better to mark the teardown parts with a
matching number or in a logical sequence.

8.1    The main teardown sequence 
8.1.1 Cut off the whole power, then shut off the lubrication pipeline 
8.1.2 Remove the cyclone tube, as well as the NON‐STD pipeline 
8.1.3 Teardown the feed‐in pipe components, motors and reducer 
8.1.4 Use other devices to bolster rotor, then remove the retaining nut in the 
bottom part of spindle. 
8.1.5 Remove the flanges on the top of the hub sleeve and connecting bolts in the 
stilt 
8.1.6 After removing the rear cover on the underneath of the spindle wrap, you 
can pour out off the fuel. 
8.1.7 Remove the coupling of the spindle and the gland bush, you can take the 
spindle out. 
 
8.2 Main Content of Examination and Repair 
8.2.1 Exam the abrasion condition of each axes, clean the oil sludge, change the
damaged assembly. Change lubricant at least once a year
8.2.2 Be aware of the oil seal on each joint and shafts, abrasion of gear and shaft in
the reducer.
8.2.3 Check out the looseness and damage of the binder bolts and nuts
8.2.4 Clean the sticky dust on the shell and pipes
8.2.5 Check out the sensitivity of all instruments。
8.2.6 Change the ceramic on the hub sleeve and the casing once it gets abrasion. The
guide blade, spreading plate, sealing ring, sealing groove, bottom cone should be
changed or repaired when they get abrasion or sealing off.
8.2.7 About more specific information of the reducer, like installation, operation,
maintaining, repair or so, please refer to the accompany documents of the device.
