Satan’s Attempt at
Getting Jesus to Skip the Cross
Luke 4:6-8
And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them:
for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is writ-
ten, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Satan has only one fear, and that is the person of the Lord Jesus Christ.
When Satan approached Eve in the garden, his hope was that she would die be-
fore birthing a child. Satan knew God planned to send Jesus through the womb of
woman and that Jesus would live a perfect life in the flesh and be able to redeem
man from the curse of death. He didn’t know when or whose womb God would
use, so he started with Eve. Satan wasn’t safe with just getting Eve to sin; Adam
had to sin also in order for those born to be under the curse of death. He knew
Eve could get Adam to join her. He couldn’t stop Eve from having children, but
because of their sin, they would be born under the curse of death and therefore
not be able to redeem anyone. Satan has always and always will hate the womb
of women. In one month last year there were 71,000 abortions. That means there
were 71,000 deceived women. Satan hasn’t given up on destroying mankind.

and not His spirit. Anything we do without faith is sin. Anything without faith
is done through the flesh. Jesus never looked to His flesh for life. Jesus never
sinned!!! If Jesus lived and died without sinning, Satan would lose his power,
and he knew it.

Getting Jesus to Skip the Cross
Take a close look at what Satan offered Jesus if He would only worship
him. God has made it very clear that we are not to have any other gods before
Him. What Satan was saying to Jesus is ‘join me’ and I’ll give you your heart’s
desire. He promised to give Jesus all kingdoms and all people, plus power and
glory. Satan was saying, he would give everything and everyone away just to
have Jesus worship him. If you are a follower of Satan, you need to realize he
would sell you out in a moment if it was something he wanted. He will turn all
this power and glory over to the anti-christ in the last days, hoping to defeat Je-
sus.
Satan was attempting to get Jesus to forget the cross. Had Jesus accepted
his offer, Jesus would not have had anything to offer us. There would have been
no redemption. Jesus knew about the cross and what it would cost him and He
chose the cross.
Phil 2:5-8
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and
was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient
unto death, even the death of the cross.
The cup that Jesus struggled with was the sins of mankind and having
God turn His back on Him. He had never been touched by sin and He had never
had a moment when God would turn away from Him. He would never have cho-
sen these things if He could have accomplished the will of God without them. In
order to fulfill the will of God for our lives, we will also have to endure things we
would not have chosen. How much do you desire to do the will of God? How
far will you go to please God? Jesus died to redeem us from the curse of death.
Why would He do that? Because He knew that the Father would resurrect Him
and not leave Him in the grave. Why do we back away from God’s will for our
lives? Because we don’t have faith to believe we will be resurrected!
1 Peter 2:22-23
Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not;
but committed himself to him that judgeth
righteously:
Satan made a great offer to Jesus, but Jesus knew and understood that
Satan was a liar. There was no promise he would keep His word. Jesus could not
accept his offer and please God. Pleasing God and redeeming us from our sins

“Where,” I asked weakly. “Right here is okay with us.”
He grinned, took another bite of hamburger while she fidgeted awk-
wardly. Everyone chuckled. They were really enjoying this. I had to stall for
time. “I’ll....I’ll....marry you,” I said with as much confidence as I could muster,
“but it will take a little while to get ready and I don’t think here on the street is
the best place. Why don’t we meet at the Baptist church in forty-five minutes.”
She blushed shyly and said she liked the idea; it would give her a chance
to go to the variety shop and get a new dress. I walked toward my 1941 Chevy
and pausing before I opened the door, I swallowed hard, looked back and waved,
hoping and praying no one would guess the uncertainties churning inside of me.
He looked me in the eyes and grinned broadly, I couldn’t miss the grin for his
mouth was outlined perfectly with mustard!
I called a friend who was a seasoned preacher and said, “I need help,
quick!” He reminded me of my pastor’s manual. He said to read it and not to
forget to sign the marriage license and then he said, “Good luck!”
He reminded me that in Texas you don’t have to have witnesses. I was
relieved because I sure didn’t want my coffee drinking friends watching me
stumble through.
They walked in and she was wearing her new dress. It looked exactly
like something you would buy.....well, something you would buy at a five-and-
dime store. He was still wearing...mustard, clearly outlining his broad grin. I
closed the church doors, hoping and praying no one would come in.
They stood before me at the front of the church and I read the introduc-
tion like an old pro. I then breezed on through the I do’s. They did...without any
hesitation. We made it through the ring ceremony and he searched through pock-
ets searching for the ring band. I led in prayer and pronounced them “man and
wife.” She smiled shyly. He grinned again, leaned over, and kissed her. When
they turned to thank me, I also smiled...for the first time...for both their mouths
were clearly outlined with mustard.
As I drove slowly down main street, Walnut Springs, I prayed out loud,
“Please, dear God, I hope she likes...mustard.”

MONTHLY REPORT
What a mighty God we serve. My doctor told me goodbye the day after
Christmas and then made a three month appointment, thinking I would not live
to make it. I kept that appointment this week, so he made another three month
appointment. Daily I face my last breath and daily God gives me strength to
continue. What can I say? My life is in God’s hands.
Most of you know that we have lived by faith financially since I retired
six years ago. We have no retirement and I thought I would be able to work, but
the day after retirement my heart began shutting down and working is out of the
picture. God has put it in the heart of people to share their lives with us these six
years. It always comes just as the need comes. One family told us they would
share with us monthly for one year. It is now six years and they are still sharing.
We have three families share with us monthly and the Lord only knows what it
has meant to us. We really needed a helping hand last week and God put it on the
hearts of two people to share just at the right time. God has never left us stranded
these six years and we haven’t had to tell anyone but God what our needs were.
Someone really wanted to know what we needed and I told them we only tell
God. Go ask Him what you should do! I wanted to tell him what we needed and
he wanted me to, but we must know it came from the heart of God and that those
who give would give only what God ask of them. We didn’t tell and God sup-
plied once again. Whatever you need today, look only to God for your answer.
was His whole purpose for coming to earth. What do we live to accomplish?
What is it we call the Lord’s Prayer? “Thy will be done on earth, as it is in
heaven.” The reason so few of God’s people do His will, is because they don’t
take up their cross.

And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
Luke 14:27
And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
When you carry your cross, you are walking with Christ and He is in-
structing your life as you walk. No cross, no fellowship!
1 Cor 1:17-18
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of
words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which
are saved it is the power of God.
Heb 12:2-3
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was
set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right
hand of the throne of God.
For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest
ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

I pray God’s blessing on you as you celebrate Easter and Mother’s Day. There would be no way to be redeemed if Jesus had not gone to the cross.
Enjoy what you have received from God and from your loved ones. Rejoice, this Aren’t you glad Jesus never yielded to His flesh? He tells us clearly in His Word
is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it. that no man comes to the Father but by Him!!! This is a little song I used to sing

he had done. If you have repented and God has forgiven you, then you do not
need to carry guilt around every day. Never justify your actions but always use
them to show how great a work God did in you when you called upon Him. Satan
won’t bring up our sins to us when he sees it reminds us of our great God who
forgave us.
The womb is God’s workshop and to enter that womb is to interfere with
God’s work. It’s one thing for you to break into my house, but to break into
God’s place of work is quite another thing. Every day, by the thousands, women
are blinded and deceived into believing they can play god with the fruit of their
womb. God is not blind and He sees clearly what is taking place, and He will
give righteous judgment to all who would destroy His works. All includes ev-
eryone involved in abortion. As R.G. Lee preached, “Pay day, some day.” This
generation of women must repent or perish; the choice is theirs.
My heart cries for my generation of women who are blinded by Satan
and are used of Satan to destroy man. Satan began in Genesis by deceiving Eve
and we find him at work in Revelations as we see the great whore, Mystery Baby-
lon, carrying a golden cup in her hand with the blood of saints and prophets, as
she rode the beast.
Rev 18:24
And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were
slain upon the earth.
To the woman I would remind you, there are more ways than one to de-
stroy a man. You might never have an abortion but think nothing about destroy-
ing a man with your tongue. My heart’s desire is that no man could accuse me of
damaging his life by the way I served his life.
God has intrusted us women with a womb. Will we be protected and
used of God, or abused and used by Satan? You have freedom of choice BUT
you can’t choose your penalty or reward for your choice!!!

24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

to do His work. We are used of God but only those who receive Christ as their
Lord and Savior are birthed into the family of God. They are the only ones whose
sins are washed away. It also says God takes us from the womb. God prepares
us. He has a purpose for our lives and He determines whether we live or die.
When we come forth, our choice is to submit and to look to our Creator for life,
or choose to attempt to find life on our own, which God says, if we do, we will
LOSE our life. How true it is.
God DOES NOT do the choosing for us. He does choose whether we
are blessed or cursed, whether we fall or stand, whether we live or die, and then
as judge, He determines what we deserve for the way we handled His gift of life,
given by His Son. God predestinated the plan of salvation because of His fore-
knowledge, knowing man’s freedom would and could get him in trouble. God
loved us enough to give the life of His only Son (knowing He had the power to
resurrect Him) to give us a way to come back to Him. What a mighty God,
what a loving God, and what a mighty Creator.
Where does He do all this work? In the womb of woman! He has in-
trusted the womb to woman. She is to help meet the needs of man. It was not
good for man to be alone. He could not fulfill God’s purpose for his life without
woman’s womb. God’s purpose for making a male and female was to multiply
and reproduce. This work was created to be done in a marriage. Any sex act
outside of marriage is against God’s word. Did you understand that? There is
no justification for having sex just because you desire to. Our desires are to be
controlled and kept within the marriage.
This generation wants to be free to do whatever they desire to do, but
they don’t want the penalty of their actions. God decides who conceives. If a
woman conceives, God expects her to deliver a child. Satan started with woman
and he has always used woman to destroy man. God meant her for good! God
meant her to help man to fulfill His will. Satan deceives and uses woman to take
man down to death. I’m ashamed as a woman to have to acknowledge that my
generation has a multitude of deceived women!!!!
We are so worried about the coronavirus at this time, but did you know
that in one month there were 72,000 abortions. We are worried about our lives
but we are doing nothing about the lives of the unborn.
If your are a woman that has had an abortion, for any reason outside of
life or death reason, you have been partner in murder. God forgives all sins when
we acknowledge we have sinned and we cry for forgiveness. God forgives the sin
of murder. He forgave David because David had a repentant spirit about what

Some years ago the Christ was caught, and to the judgment seat was brought;
Accused of many deeds of wrong, He was brought before the screaming throng.

They said, “He claimed that He was God, while walking on this earthly sod”....
But God (they said) He cannot be, He is not God for we can see,
He’s just a man who broke the law. We know He did, there’s some who saw.

They paid some witnesses to say, “We saw Him break the law today.”
And so the trial ended there, it wasn’t just, it wasn’t fair.
The people said, “He’ll die today.” for the wrong He did, He’ll surely pay.

And so they led Him to the cross. His followers said, “We’ll suffer loss.”
There’s no one else to lead us through. He’s done. He’s finished..... what will we do?

And so He died there on that tree, naked, bruised for all to see.
He took the sins of all mankind, so God the Father to our sins would be blind.
To those who realized...that day, He died to take our sins away.

They laid Him in a borrowed grave, they said, “Himself He could not save.”
They set a watch that would be sure, the stone they set...it would be secure.
For He had said He’d rise again, after His death by sinful men.
And on the morning of that third day, THE ANGEL ROLLED THE STONE AWAY.

So Jesus rose that selfsame morn and Mary Magdaline He did warn,
Do not touch my body yet, a new one I must go and get.
But go and tell the others true, I’ll come back soon and visit you,
To tell you just what must be done, to exalt the Father, Spirit and Son,
That souls of men we might redeem...before they burn and cry and scream!

And all the world will know some day....THE ANGEL ROLLED THE STONE AWAY.
