What is the media and why is it important?

Armaan: Media is mass communication that is published through many different outlets. They
can be distributed through articles, blogs, magazines, and newspapers. Media is important
because the media has the ability to inform many different people about different situations and
events. Media can also educate people about important issues around the world, such as
poverty, war, and hunger in different countries around the world. Media can help with these
issues because the media can show people various charities to help them.

Natalia: Media is the means of mass communication. There are many different types of media,
social media, broadcast media, and news media. Some examples of well-known media are
Snapchat, Netflix, CBC news, and so on. It is important because it can help you connect with
people around the world, and learn about different crises that are currently happening, for
example, the bushfires in Australia, and Coronavirus in Italy and China. Without media, we
might not be ready for what is coming.

Reese: Media literacy is the ability to think critically about the media sources people interact
with daily. It's important because it is a way to understand, and learn about what's going on in
our world. There's a variety of media! Broadcasting which is tv, youtube, netflix, movies, and
the radio. Publishing which is books, newspapers, magazines and advertisements. And Lastly,
there is the internet, which is probably one of the most used media around the world. people
use the internet daily, to watch the news, interact with friends and family, learn, and many other
uses. Media literacy is a way to learn about our surroundings and a way to learn about
important issues that we could help with drastically. And lastly A big factor in media literacy is
entertainment. People are intrigued by watching documentaries, movies, tv shows, etc.

matter of seconds and it can spread stories and important messages for millions of people to
see in a way we never could before, it is also a way to be connected with people all around the
world. There are many different forms of media such as broadcasting which includes tv, radio,
movies and youtube, and the internet which is the form of media that we probably use the most
in our everyday lives and publishing which includes books, newspapers and magazines. Media
also helps us understand crises that are currently happening in our world and how we can reach
out and support the people and countries going through them. Media also has the power to
persuade people and start different movements and establish trends
