Think About This

No matter what we do in this life, more times than none, we know why
we‟re doing it; we know what the purpose is. We go to work to earn money
in order to survive. We go to the store to buy something; we go to school to
gain an education in order that we can get a good job. We don‟t go to the
bathroom to take a nap. You go to the bathroom to relieve yourself of bodily
waste. Any and everything we do has its own purpose in this life, nothing is
done without a reason….but what about this life? What is the purpose of
this life in which we live? How come when you ask people this simple yet
complicated question, you get a
different answer every time? It‟s
because people don‟t know what
the purpose of life is. They‟re
confused and just follow what
they‟re told and/or what they see
everyone else doing, without
questioning a thing…. like sheep.

If you believe in a Creator and a higher Power (God) that controls everything
in this world, then this will be easier for you to understand than for those
who think that we evolved from monkeys and believe all of this happened by
mere chance. If you study the science of the Earths make up you will clearly
see that it is a perfect balance of hydrogen, oxygen, carbons and many other
molecules, which if were off balance by even a fraction of a percent, would
extinguish all life on this Earth as we know it. To prove the existence of
God, the One who is maintaining this perfect balance, I will use Dr Zakir
Naiks explanation….

When someone brings to you a machine or device that you have never seen
before, who would you say is the most knowledgeable on this machine or

2
device? You would say the creator, the
manufacturer, the inventor, the producer etc.
If you see a clock sitting on the side of the
road, would you say that clock just appeared
by mere chance, or did someone create that
clock and place it there? Obviously someone
created it and left it there, whether by
mistake or on purpose. Now, if we look at
the scientific facts of the Earth that we live
in, we realize that most of these scientific facts have just been discovered
within the last century or so.

How did our universe come into existence? The atheist will tell us that
initially there was a Primary Nebula and then there was a Big Bang. There
was a secondary separation which gave
rise to our galaxy, the sun, the moon
and the Earth. This we call the Big
Bang Theory. When did we come to
know about this creation of the
universe? The atheist will tell you
about 40 to 50 years ago, scientists
discovered this. Tell him, “What are
you talking about? The Big Bang was
already mentioned 1400 years ago in
the Qur‟an, in Surah Ambiyah (21:30)”: We say, do not the unbelievers see
that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation),
before we clove them asunder (spread them out)? Who could have possibly
known this back then? Also another question; is the light of the moon its
own light or reflected light? The atheist will tell us that previously we
thought the moon had its own light, in the last 200 to 300 years we have

3
come to know that the light of the moon is not its
own light, but a reflected light from our sun. The
Qur‟an mentioned this 1400 years ago in Surah
Furqan (25:61): Blessed is He who placed
constellations in the skies, and placed therein a
Lamp (a sun having its own light) and a Moon
(having a reflected light). The Arabic word used for
moon-light in the Qur‟an is "Munir", meaning
reflected light or a borrowed light. Who could have known this then?

What is the shape of the Earth on which we live? The atheist will tell you
it is spherical. When did we come to know this? He will tell us, 1597 when
Francis Drake sailed around the world and proved that the Earth was
spherical. The Qur‟an said this 1400
years ago in Surah Naziat (79:30). And
thereafter We have spread the Earth egg
shaped. The Arabic word 'Dahaha', one
of its meanings is geological expansion.
The other meaning is direct from the
Arabic word 'Duyah' which means an
egg. It doesn't refer to a normal egg, but
to the egg of an Ostrich. We know that
the world is not completely round like a ball but it is geo-spherical in shape
and is flatter at the poles. Also if you analyze the shape of the egg of an
Ostrich, that too is geo-spherical in shape.

Today we have come to know that there are

two types of water, sweet and salty. There is
also a barrier between them which is

4
mentioned in the Qur‟an in Surah Rahman (55:19 – 20). It is Allah who has
let free two bodies of flowing water. Though they meet, they do not mix.
There is a barrier between them. Today's science tells us that it is the
mountains which prevent the Earth from
shaking uncontrollably, which was
mentioned in the Qur‟an 1400 years ago in
Surah Naba (78:6-7). Have We not made
the Earth a resting place and mountains as
its stakes. Qur‟an talks about the bees in
Surah Nahl (16:68-69). And thy Lord
inspired the bee, saying: Choose thou
habitations in the hills and in the trees and in that which they thatch; Then
eat of all fruits, and follow the ways of thy Lord, made smooth (for thee).
There cometh forth from their bellies a drink divers of hues (honey), wherein
is healing for mankind. Lo! Herein is
indeed a sign for people who reflect.
The Qur‟an speaks about
Embryology in Surah Alaq (96: 2).
We have created mankind from alaq
(a leech-like substance).

We have only come to know these facts recently. You can go on talking
about the scientific points all day. There are hundreds of verses in the
Qur‟an which speak accurately about scientific facts which were just proven
recently with modern technology. After every scientific fact you must ask
the question, who could have mentioned these in the Qur‟an more than 1400
years ago? The only reply the atheist or anyone else can give you is the
creator, the manufacturer, the inventor, the producer, etc. This Creator, this
Manufacturer, this Producer and this Inventor, we Muslims know Him as
Allah (The only God).

5
Now that we have proven that Allah (God) exists
and is maintaining the balance of the entire
universe, we must figure out His purpose for us in
this life. Did He create all this for amusement;
for fun and play? Are we here to gain wealth and
materials, to enjoy ourselves before we die or is
there a deeper reason behind all of this. Allah
(God) is perfect and does not make mistakes or do
anything that is foolish, so we cannot say that
there is no real explanation to this question of creation. Allah says in the
Qur‟an: “I have created the jinn (spirits) and humankind only for My
worship.” (Quran 51:56) also, “Remember when your Lord extracted from
the loins of Adam‟s children their descendants and made them testify saying:
„Am I not your Lord?‟ They said: „Yes, we testify to it.‟ This was in case
you say on the Day of Judgment: „We were unaware of this.‟ Or you say:
„It was our ancestors who worshipped others besides Allah and we are only
their descendants. Will you then destroy us for what those liars did?‟”
(Quran 7:172) So we know now that
we were created to worship our
Creator, Allah and that we made a
contract with Him to spend our time
here worshipping and obeying Him
otherwise we will be punished with
hellfire for eternity. So why are there
so many different religions and beliefs
throughout the entire world?

In the Qur‟an, Allah tells us the story of Shaytan (the Devil) and how he
promised to mislead all of mankind only because his arrogance led him to
punishment from Allah. “And (remember) when your Lord said to the

6
angels: “I am going to create a man (Adam) from dried clay of altered mud.
(28) So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him the
soul which I created for him, then fall down prostrating yourselves unto
him.” (29) So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. (30)
Except Iblîs (Satan), - he refused to be among the prostrators. (31) (Allâh)
said: “O Iblîs (Satan)! What is your reason for not being among the
prostrators?" (32) Iblîs (Satan) said: "I am not the one to prostrate myself to
a human being, whom You created from dried clay of altered mud." (33)
(Allâh) said: "Then, get out from here, for verily, you are Rajîm (an outcast or
a cursed one)." (34) "And verily, the curse shall be upon you till the Day of
Recompense (the Day of Resurrection)." (35) Iblîs (Satan) said: "O my Lord!
Give me then respite till the Day they will be resurrected." (36) Allâh said:
"Then, verily, you are of those reprieved, (37) "Till the Day of the time
appointed." (38) Iblîs (Satan) said: "O my Lord! Because you have put me in
error, I will surely make disobedience attractive to them (mankind) on the
Earth, and I will mislead them all.
(39) "Except Your (guided) slaves
among them." (40) (Allâh) said: "This
is a path of return to Me that is
straight." (41) "Certainly, you shall
have no authority over My slaves,
except those who follow you of the
Ghâwun (those who go astray,
criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers)
(42) "And surely, Hell is the promised
place for them all. (43)” (15:28-43)

So we can see the test of this life unfolding. Iblis (Satan) was not an Angel
because Angels do not disobey Allah, but he was a jinn (spirit). We know
this because Allah tells us in the Qur‟an: Behold! We said to the Angels

7
"Bow down to Adam": they bowed down except Iblis. He was one of the
Jinns, and disobeyed the Command of his Lord. Will you then take him
(Iblis) and his progeny as protectors rather than Me? And they are enemies to
you! Evil would be the exchange for the wrongdoers!(18:50) Iblis (Satan)
with his arrogance disobeyed Allah‟s command to bow to His greatest
creation Adam (mankind). In doing so, he was banished from Paradise to
Earth and vowed to wage a war on mankind for us having Allah‟s favor.
This is not a war the likes of which you know
today with guns and tanks etc. It is a war for our
minds and souls, where he attacks us using the
thoughts in our heads. He makes the wrong fair
seeming while making the good seem wrong. He
puts doubts in our hearts about what is right and
confuses our reason with ignorance. Thus, morally blinding people in an
attempt to create a society of Godless human
beings who forget the one purpose they were
created in the first place…. the worship of
our Lord and Creator. Allah had set a way
of life for mankind and Iblis had promised
to lead us away from this way of life. The
question is…. which way of life is this?

All throughout the history of the world, mankind has had one job, and that
job is to worship Allah (God). Now whenever a society strayed away from
this way of life, Allah (God) would send them a Prophet who would show
them the correct way. This has happened all throughout history. We know
that there is only one God, so any religion or way of life that includes many
gods or worshipping someone/something other than Allah (God) should be
recognized as a deception of Iblis (Satan), because this is his job to get people
to disobey Allah as he did and to be damned to Hellfire like him. There has

8
never come a Prophet who spoke of another god other than Allah (God), so to
have a god for every day of the year like the Hindus is a deviation, as is
worshipping Buddha, cows, trees, stars, the sun and moon as well as not
believing in Allah all together. Allah‟s way of life would not include the
worship of anyone or thing other than Himself, so
that leaves us with the three Monotheistic
religions….Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
Unfortunately, today you have to be born into
Judaism and cannot convert, so I highly doubt
that Allah only chose a handful of people to be
born into “right guidance”. The Prophet Ibrahim
(Abraham) was one of the greatest Prophets recognized by all three faiths,
which Allah had sent to mankind. As a young boy, he not only challenged
his father, but his entire village in proving their error in idol worshipping.
Allah speaks of his story in the Qur‟an: And, verily, among those who
followed his (Noah) way (Monotheism) was Ibrahim (Abraham). (83) When
he came to his Lord with a pure heart [attached to Allah Alone] (84) when
he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that you worship? (85) "Is
it a falsehood âlihah (gods) other than Allah that you desire? (86) "Then
what think you about the Lord of the 'Alamîn (mankind, jinn, and all that
exists)?" (87) Then he cast a glance at the stars, (88) and he said: "Verily, I
am sick." (89) So they turned away from him, and departed. (90) Then he
turned to their âlihah (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering
before you)? (91) "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" (92)
Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. (93) Then
they (the worshippers of idols) came towards him hastening. (94) He said:
"Do you worship that which you (yourselves) carve? (95) "While Allah has
created you and what you make!" (96) (37:83-96)

9
Ibrahim (Abraham), one of the best
examples/teachers of Allah‟s (God)
chosen religion, destroyed carved
idols (statues) that his people used to
worship. Islam is not the only of the
Monotheistic religions that forbids
idol worship. Of the Ten
Commandments of Christianity, the
Old Testament says:

1- “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out
of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.
2- “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of
anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in
the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them.
For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the
fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate
Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My
Commandments. (Exodus 20:2-17 New King James Version)

Knowing this, why have Christians taken Jesus, saints, angels and even the
dead for worship? How you ask? The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) had a
discussion with a Christian man and it went as follows: Adi B. Hatim who
was then a Christian, came to visit the Prophet at Medinah. When the
Prophet saw Adi wearing a cross he said “The Jews and Christians worship
their Rabbis and their Priests.” Of which Adi retorted and said they did not.
The Prophet then said, “Indeed they have, because whatever Allah made
legal, the priest and rabbis made illegal, and otherwise, hence it amounted to
the worship of them.”

10
So basically, any authority you put over Allah (God) is in fact considered
“worship” of that (so called) authority. Like when you ask a saint or a dead
relative for help, strength, ease etc. That is saying that someone other than
Allah (God) has power to affect your life and
what happens in it. Saints are dead people
who were righteous in this life and who have
no power in the next life. Now Christians
have gone as far as to create statues of these
saints and ask these statues for help. This is
exactly what Ibrahim (Abraham) warned his
people against, not to mention, it is directly
breaking the first two of the Ten
Commandments. Also, saying that Allah (God)
has a son fits in idol worship as well. Allah
(God) never claimed to have a son, or a
daughter, or a wife, or a pet dog, or anyone
related to Him. He is One alone with no partners, so where did this come
from? Jesus never once said that he is the literal “son” of Allah. Could this
have been what the Prophet Muhammad was talking about when he said
that “whatever Allah made legal, the priest and rabbis made illegal and
otherwise”?

Jesus said: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children
of God.” (Matt 5:9). Also,

“That ye may be children of your Father which is in Heaven.” (Matt 5:45)

Some Christians will say that Jesus is the “literal” son of Allah because he
was born without a father through the Immaculate Conception, but I say to
them…. Adam and Eve were born without a father AND a mother, so
shouldn‟t they have more claim to the title of “children” of Allah (God) than
Jesus? Allah speaks about this in the Qur‟an, He says: And they say: "The
Most Gracious (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children)" (88)
Indeed you have brought forth (said) a terrible evil thing. (89) Whereby the
11
heavens are almost torn, and the earth is split asunder, and the mountains
fall in ruins, (90) that they ascribe a son to the Most Gracious (Allah). (91)
But it is not suitable for (the Majesty of) the Most Gracious (Allah) that He
should beget a son. (92) There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes
unto the Most Gracious (Allah) as a slave. (93) Verily, He knows each one of
them, and has counted them a full counting. (94) And every one of them will
come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection (without any helper, or
protector or defender). (95) (19:88-95)

How many times in the Bible does Jesus say Allah (God) is One and only?

One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that
Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the
commandments, which is the most important?” “The most important one,”
answered Jesus, “is this: „Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, is One. Love the
Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your
mind and with all your strength.‟ (Mark 12:28-30)

Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni;
which is to say, Master. Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet
ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend
unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. Mary
Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the lord, and that
he had spoken these things unto her. (John 20:16-18) It should be noted
that the term “lord” in the verse above is not referring to Allah (God), but
“lord” back then as is today, is a title given to people of authority. Many
people in England are given the title “lord” today and it does not mean that
they are divine.

Now this is eternal life: that they know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus
Christ, whom Thou have sent. (John 17:3)

This verse is very important because it distinguishes Allah (God) from Jesus
in the claim of Trinity that they are one together. Clearly, Jesus himself is

12
speaking of two separate entities in God and himself, who he acknowledges
sent him and that he did not come on his own will and power. Anyone using
their intelligence can easily see that Jesus did NOT claim to be Allah (God)
or His son, but certain terms and titles given to him were taken way out of
context and it is the priests and rabbi‟s who made these claims, NOT Jesus.
Jesus was a worshipper of Allah (God) like all the Prophets and this is
proved many times in the Bible. The way that Jesus lived, like all of the
Prophets is THE chosen way of life which Allah (God) has chosen for
mankind. If we do not follow this way of life and live it, then we are
falling for the trick of Iblis (Satan). After all, it was his promise to stray us
away from this path in the first place. So I will now use verses from the
Qur‟an and Bible to find the Prophets‟ true way of life.

Jesus prayed. Now if Jesus was Allah (God) or the son of Allah, then why
would he need to pray? Not once in the Bible does Jesus say “worship me”
or “pray to me”. Every prayer was directed to the One and only Allah (God
or The Father).

“After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to

pray. Later that night, he was there alone.” (Matt 14:23)

How did Jesus pray?

“Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My
Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but
as you will.” (Matt 26:39)

13
What did Moses and Aaron do before they prayed?
“He placed the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar and put
water in it for washing, and Moses and Aaron and his sons used it to wash
their hands and feet. They washed whenever they entered the tent of meeting
or approached the altar, as the Lord commanded Moses.” (Exodus 40:30-32)

Jesus and Moses both taught not to eat pork or drink alcohol.
“And the pig, though it has a divided hoof, does not chew the cud; it is
unclean for you. You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they
are unclean for you.” (Leviticus 11:7-8)
“The Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: „If a man
or woman wants to make a special vow, a vow of dedication to the Lord as
a Nazirite, they must abstain from wine and other fermented drink and must
not drink vinegar made from wine or other fermented drink. They must not
drink grape juice or eat grapes or raisins. As long as they remain under their
Nazirite vow, they must not eat anything that comes from the grapevine,
not even the seeds or skins.” (Numbers 6:1-4)

14
Allah (God) forbids Pork and alcohol in the Qur‟an:
“Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and
that on which hath been invoked a name other than that of Allah.” (Qur‟an
5:3)

“O ye who believe! Intoxicants and gambling, stone alters and divination by

arrows, are an abomination of Satan's handwork: avoid such (abomination),
that ye may prosper.” (Qur‟an 5:90)
Historical descriptions of Jesus show that he kept a long beard and wore
long robes. Muslims are taught by the Prophet Muhammad that this is the
proper way of dress for a male.
Jesus‟ dress. Muslim dress

15
A female should cover her hair as well as her physical features, just like
Mary the mother of Jesus did.
Mary‟s dress Muslimah dress

Anyone using logic and reason can clearly see that the way of life that all
Prophets, especially Jesus taught, was Islam. It‟s no wonder that in a world
over run by Iblis‟ soldiers and influences, that Islam is the main target of
their lies and violence, the same way all the Prophets
were attacked and ridiculed. The word “Islam” means
to submit completely to your Creator so calling yourself
“Muslim” means that you are the one who submits.
The animals throughout the world are Muslim because
they submit to Allah and do not disobey Him. They are born; they reproduce
and survive in this world until death, all the while
serving mankind as either food, transport or for other
purposes. So are the trees and plants Muslim because
they sprout from a seed, grow into a tree, plant or bush
and bare flowers, vegetables and fruits according to what
16
Allah created them for. Rivers and oceans, stars and planets are all Muslim
because they do exactly what they were created for and nothing else. They
submit completely to the will and decree of Allah (God).

Islam teaches to worship Allah (God) and only Him. To become a Muslim
you merely have to say “I bare witness there‟s no god but Allah and I bare
witness that Muhammad is His messenger”. That‟s it. After that you do
your best to stay away from what is prohibited and enjoin in what is lawful.
The women should veil themselves as they were commanded to in the Bible:
“But any woman who prays or
prophecies with her head unveiled,
dishonors her head- it is the same as
if her head were shaven. For if a
woman will not veil herself, then she
should cut off her hair, but if it is
disgraceful for a woman to be shorn
or shaven, then let her wear a veil.”
(Corrinthians 1:5-6)

Both men and women are to greet fellow Believers with the greeting of peace
“As Salaamu Alaykum”, just like Jesus used to: “Jesus said to them again
“peace be upon you”. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.” (John
20:19)

Muslims are commanded to fast the

month of Ramadan and break their fast
with fellow Muslims, as Jesus also
fasted: “He fasted forty days and forty

17
nights, and afterwards he was hungry.” (Matt 4:2)

Muslims follow the tradition of

polygamy as did Prophet Ibrahim
(Abraham): “So after Abraham had
dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan,
Sara, Abraham‟s wife took Hagar the
Egyptian, her maid, to Abraham as a
wife.” (Genesis 16:13)

In closing I would just say that if you are a God fearing person who wants
to follow the example of the greatest men that Allah (God) has put on this
Earth (Prophets), then you must follow the way of life which Allah (God)
has taught them. A way of life that allows one to know and to have a
relationship with his Lord. A way of life that covers the spiritual, physical,
financial, family, social, political, military, and not to mention the moral and
value aspects of this life. A way of life that teaches you about the life of
this world as well as the life to come. A way of life that is complete and
gives everyone their due rights without leaving one person out. That way of
life is Islam; complete submission to Allah (God) and Allah only…. Succeed
in following Islam and Allah promises you Paradise…. the greatest reward
mankind could ever imagine. Your Lord is Allah, His way is Islam and the
choice is yours.
