1.in paragraph three, the author includes figurative language. How does the figurative
language in the text help the reader understand the character’s feelings about getting
older? the author includes figurative language in paragraph three because she wants to
highlight the irreversible running of time. She wants to present that even you wake up
+you like yesterday or few days ago.
2. the author stated, “Only today I wish I didn’t have only eleven years rattling inside
me like pennies in a tin can.” What does this figurative language mean and how does
it affect the tone of the text? Author wants to say that ages it's only some figures. She
compares ages with pennies because 1 pennies is nothing but more pennies are
something more it's the same with ages.
3.Reread the first four paragraphs and note how many times the author starts a
sentence with the word “and”. Why does the author make this choice? She does it
because she wants to highlight all ideas about birthday because mentality aren't
chnage in one day or night. Your ages comes after some day weeks or ages maybe.
4.When Phylis says the sweater belongs to Rachel, how does Rachel respond? What
does this reveal about how Rachel feels about herself? She respond like a children and
she feels that she hasn't any power to say something stronger. She feels unpowerful.
5.Why does Rachel feel that Mrs. Price is “right”? Give evidence from the text to
support your answer. She things like this because she said that Mrs. Prince is teacher
with ages of experience ''Because she's older and the teacher, she's right and I'm not.''
6. In paragraph twelve beginning “Not mine, not mine, not mine”, what does the text
and how Rachel responds to the situation tell us about Rachel’s character? This
situation tells us that even she has her opinion in a difficult situation she is weak.
Maybe she has a good education and she can’t argue with teacher or colleagues

text? I think that the author does that because in this way she present what's happened
inside of Rachael. This ''not mine'' underline the stressed position of Rachael in this
situation.

hot...” Identify other sentences from paragraphs fourteen through nineteen that are of
similar lengths. Why does the author choose to write such lengthy sentences in
paragraphs fourteen through nineteen? The author choose such type of lengthy
sentences to not broke the idea. Also she chooses this type of sentences to provoc
interes of her thoughts. She wants to intensify the subject in Rachael's head and her
long thoughts without end.

10.When the text states, “Mrs. Price pretends like everything’s okay”, what age does
this reflect? Why? This text states reflect 11 ages because Rachel thing as big as her
years allow it. She understand that even all can be correct ore incorrect in your brain,
it can be another in brain of your neighbor. Rachel understand that she can't change
teacher position.

11.In paragraph five and in the last paragraph, Rachel says she wants to be 102. In
each instance, why does Rachel want to be 102? Rachel want to be 102 because she
thoughts that in all ages you can cry like in 3 year sleep la in 10 and something like
this. She thoughts that 102 is the better ages because you can be so old but so young
to do your life.
12.How has Rachel grown older today? Include evidence from the text to support
your answer. Today Rachael grows up maybe more than in another days because
today was her birthday. Also today was this situation with sweater when her
colleagues betrayed her '' maybe because she doesn't like me, that stupid Sylvia
Saldivar says, "I think it belongs to Rachel." Also the situation with the teacher make
her stronger, because she understood that not all people can support her and people
can close theirs eyes on some problem '' Not mine, not mine, not mine, but Mrs. Price
is already turning to page thirty-two, and math problem number four.''
