CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
Many students in this era are very lazy when it comes to studying. Students in
this era are very lazy to study because of there are too many distractions when they are
studying. This era which is the modern era have so many new things that the people of
the non-modern era don’t have. For example : mobile phones, internet, electronic, etc.
This are the factors of many other factors that made students got distracted from their
studies. They got distracted because these inventions are very tempting for students
because they are not boring. To students, these inventions are very tempting because it is
fun for them to use. The result of these inventions made students distracted and can’t
concentrate with their studies. The result of the students can’t concentrate is very serious.
Students always get low scores at school. I am on of those students who can’t
concentrate on my studies. But not all of the students get low scores. How these students
who get high scores can get that score? They can get those scores because they can
concentrate when studying. The writer is making this research to know how these
students who got good scores concentrate on their studies. The writer wants to know how
they concentrate becaouse the writer wants to know how can the writer concentrate on
the writer’s studies. The writer doesn’t want to get bad scores on his exams. Hopefully

RESEARCH METHOD
A. Type of Research
The type of research that the writer uses is qualitative. The writer conduct the a survey

The object of study are high school students that belongs to btoh public schools and
The method that is used by the writer to gather the data is by creating an online survey
form which later on can be shared by a link. The link of the survey form was shared to the
subjects by a social media named ‘Line’.The subjects answered the questions regarding

A. Research Finding
Based on the survey that was shared and answered by the subjects, there have been 22
total responses/data collected. The charts and short answers below are the summarized
answers of the total 22 responses. (Sorry if its in Indonesian. Most of the subjects are

The data above contains the answers from the subjects/high school students
about their own methods on how to concentrate when studying. There are the answers
on how they concentrate when studying (Bagaimana cara anda berkonsentrasi saat
belejar?), why they can concentrate when studying using their methods (Kenapa anda
bisa berkonsentrasi saat belajar dengan cara itu?) and about their opinion on able or
not able for other high school students to follow their method on how to concentrate
on studying (Menurut anda orang lain bisa meniru cara anda berkonsentrasi saat
belajar tidak?).
Based on the data, 22 high school students have their own ways to concentrate
on studying. Some students have the same method to concentrate when studying.
There are 2 students who concentrate when studying by listening to music. There are
better. 3 students that concentrate better when studying with their friends. The rest

can concentrate using their own method. There are also same answers from these
students. Most of the students answered that they use their methods to not get bored.
This means that most of the students/subjects were bored when they were studying
before. They use these methods so they will not get bored when studying.
The last question that the writer gave is about the opinions of the students on
able or not able for other high school students to follow their methods on how to
concentrate better when studying. Most of the students which is 54.5% of the total

(which is 7 students/responses) are not sure about able or not able for other students to
follow their method. Least of the students which is 13.6% of the total responses
(which is 3 students/responese) said no which means they are sure that their methods

A. Conclusion
In conclusion, high school students have their own methods on how to concentrate
better when studying. Most of the methods that are used by the students are usable by
other students but there are also methods that are not usable by other students. It is better
that students find their own method on how to concentrate better when studying so they
can have max concentration on studying. By creating their own method, they can find
other effective method on concentrating better when studying when the previous method

The writer suggests that other researchers to research this method more
thoroughly so that the future research are more reliable and more accurate. The writer
also suggest other researchers to make the research scale wider so not only high
school students can use the research to concentrate better when studying.
