Standard Operating Procedures


Communication Monitoring for RI/IMI:

The objective of communication monitoring for RI/IMI is to capture input, process & output
indicators of communication initiatives planned under Intensified Mission Indradhanush or
Routine immunization. This will also help in understanding knowledge & perception of
caregivers for immunization services. This will help district, state & national level officials to
understand the planning & implementation of communication activities for IMI/RI & taking
corrective actions to achieve desired result.

The communications monitoring will be done at three levels. This includes:

 District level communication monitoring tool.


 PHC/ Planning Unit level monitoring tool.
 Session site communication monitoring tool (Joint operation & communication
format).

Main sources of information under communication plan will be:

 Communication Plan: RI & IMI communication plans.

As per IMI guideline state, district & block are supposed to prepare their
communication plan in different formats which are:

 17D - Sub Centre Communication Planning template

 17C- PHC/Planning unit Communication Planning template

 17B- District Communication Planning template

 17A- State Communication Planning template

 Training reports (Monthly training reports on various trainings – BRIDGE, NHM


ASHA training, SM Net trainings, FLWs training, other trainings reports, etc.)

 STFI/DTFI Meeting Minutes

 Stock record for IEC material (Receiving & distribution)

 Record of Media tracking

Monitor will visit District Health Office and meet with District Immunization Officer and District IEC in-
charge and fill following observations

Questions: Most of the questions are answered either through observations of various
documents or by interviewing District Immunization Officer and District IEC Incharge.

Data entry Process:

All the filled formats will be entered in online. RI/MIcommunication monitoring format have
been included in NCCMIS website (http://www.nccvmtc.org/ss/login.asp) and monitors can
directly enter their monitoring data into the website using state specific user id and password
(see last page). Monitor can also enter the data by using android based mobile application.

This tool is simple and answers of all the questions should be entered in this sheet. All
answers are coded and these codes will be entered in this tool not the actual answer. Few
questions like name of monitor, district, etc.’ is not coded and data entry person will enter
these answers as mentioned in the format.

(b) Mobile based data entry process:

Install application using Google play store in Android.

Google play store----->Search for Supportive Supervision NCCVMRC app. --------> Install the app.

General Setting----->Configure platform setting -------->User name & PW-------> Other Setting

Downloading blank formats: Internet connection is required

Download blank formats from the server. User can download all the formats or specific
formats based on the need and use.

Once the data entry has been done, user can see the report and analyzed data from the website. Share
your feedback with field level worker and ensure that immediate corrective measures are taken
through supportive supervision approach. This analysed data and monitoring feedback will also be
shared with all the concerned officials for action.
