URATEX
1. What approach in quality has Uratex brand used to excel? Explain briefly.

In TQM there are five approaches in quality. And these are Transcendent, Product-based,
User-based, Manufacturing-based, and Value-based approach. Let us start with the said brand
using Product-based approach, because it was stated that the product of Uratex are durable and
have a high quality. They guaranteed that the foams and mattresses are enough to carry their
name because of the quality.

For the second quality approach, the said brand was using a User-based approach,
because they provided something that huge amount of people really needed like a soft and
comfortable foam to sleep on instead of enduring the uneasiness of laying down on the floor.
Complying to the consumers’ need really helped them to find their way up. And they aimed to
provide comfort, healthful, restful, and peaceful sleep every night.

Lastly, brand using a Value-based approach because of its quality and value that they
maintain for the long period of time.

2. How would you qualify Uratex brand using the three types of quality?
For the first type of quality which is quality of design, uratex settled on a simple but nice
design of mattresses that fits the taste of the people that will buy their items. All of the Uratex
foam undergo vertifoam process in order to form perfectly shaped design. And they assure special
equipment for customized cutting according to specification. Lastly, they surely do a good design
to satisfy customer to their product to make it presentable to all.
 For the second type of quality which is quality of conformance, they passionately meeting
their requirements. Uratex proven itself as being the most trusted brand. Also they used an
effective process to produce the same product-uniform to make it more consistent.
For the last quality type, quality of performance uratex has been one of the top because
aside from their products being comfortable, the foams are also in high quality. Foams will surely
last for years because of its durability.

3. Can Uratex brand make use of reengineering to further improve its mattresses? Defend your
side.
Yes, because in every year customer always find new to a product so that the company
will provide the best version of their product to make customers satisfied. And they need
innovations that is connected with the trends today that will excellently. Lastly, they might think
of a new way to produce their product that can even outdo the existing ones. Since it requires the
customer’s needs and aligning the design process to their need, it will be an effective way for
Uratex to further improve their product.
