The children began screaming as they were ripped away from their parent’s embrace.

Thousands of children are put into this scenario every month as they sob their goodbyes to their

parent or parents. Deportation has been steadily rising over the years as we have changed our

government. New laws have enforced ICE deportation and prevent illegal immigration. As this

new form of government focuses on deportation laws, they use fear in order to gain support. This

fear takes the form of stereotyping these immigrants to try to make people start supporting

deportation. So, has stereotyping of Mexicans by the government led to an increase of Mexicans

deported?

ICE instilled fear in the public by triumphantly brandishing their top arrests. Their

website has images of top drug dealers and gang members that are in America that were recently

arrested. This starts to not only increase the popularity of the site, but it is stereotypes Mexicans

as a danger to society. This increases the popularity of ice by people being thankful that there is

another drug lord off the streets. This all revolves around people’s fear. This fear starts off by

people frightened of the community around them, if they may be drug lords or not. This leads to

stereotyping a race as to all of them being a drug lord. This then leads to the action of them

turning to the government for relief when they see all these arrests made in the past months. The

government stereotyping races lead to fear which causes an action in the act of supporting ICE.

On August 2, one of the biggest raids in the united states went into effect. Thousands

were taken by force outside multiple processing plants scattered around in the state of
Mississippi. Out of the thousands that were arrested, a large portion of them were torn away from

their family. They had sacrificed their lives to live an honest life and to support those they care

about. Just like most Americans. This raid was the cause of a snowball effect. The smallest piece

was the government stereotyping Mexicans. This rolled into a larger snowball by the public

fearing for themselves and their loved ones of their community changing because of either drugs

or violence. As this built up, the snowball grew constantly as raids were a demand to stop

criminals. Through the stereotyping of Mexicans, the government instilled fear in people which

raised support of these massive raids, tearing families apart.

ICE deportation numbers have grown increasingly since the change of presidency.

According to border report, there has been a 32 percent increase in arrests on the states that

border Mexico.Popularity for deportation increases due to the fear in people for their lives. This

then brings the government to increase deportation rates. Again, this ties in with the stereotyping

of Mexicans to gain control of the people that appeal to the government’s actions.

The people, plagued with the lies of stereotyping, is slowly appealing to the government

ideals of deportation. This stereotyping leads to many non-criminals to be deported as society

views them as drug dealers or gang members. This then pushes the effort into increasing the

amount of effort being put into applying to come into the united states. This then causes more

illegal immigrants to come as the workload is either to cotly or they don't have the time. As they

slowly get caught, This repeats the cycle. Thus, through stereotyping, the government can put

more effort into deportation as it gains the society’s support.
