Fazel Farahmand (M’1978) was born in Tehran,

Iran.
He received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering
from Iran University of Science and Technology
in 2001. He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees
in Electrical and Computer Engineering
respectively in 2005 and 2009 from University of
Manitoba and University of British Columbia.
Prior to joining OTI, Dr. Farahmand has worked
as a Research Assistant at the UBC, where he did research on Statistical Process
Control (SPC) and Iterative Adaptive Robust Control methods on multivariable
MIMO processes. Since joining ETAP in January 2009, as a Senior Controls
Engineer he has tested, installed and developed enterprise solutions for simulation,
control, protection and analysis of varieties of plants including but not limited to
oil and gas refineries, iron and steel companies, cement plants and T&D systems.
He has also worked as Project Manager in Siemens, preparing material cost and
timing estimates, reports and developed specifications on different automation
projects.

Tanuj Khandelwal received his Bachelor's

degree in Electronics and Telecommunications
Engineering from University of Bombay in 1999
and his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
fromCalifornia State University, Long Beach in
2001. Before joining OTI, he worked as an
Associate Engineer at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
His projects involved application development for Power Derivatives in a
deregulated market. He was also involved in the Operating Procedures Audit of
CAISO in 2001 and worked on streamlining power contracts for Nevada Power.
Mr.Khandelwal has been working as an Electrical Engineer for the Engineering
Consulting Services department at OTI since 2001. His duties involve algorithm
design, testing, engineering and software support, training and application
engineering for ETAP family of products. He has been a member of IEEE for over
five years and is a working group member of the IEEE Std.739 (Bronze Book),
IEEE Std. 551 (Brown Book) as well as a member of the IEEE Rail Transit
Vehicle Interface Standards Committee.
J.J. Dai got his BS, Wuhan University, China, 1977. He
received his M. Engineering in Electrical Engineering, from
Wuhan University, China, 1981, MS, Electrical Engineering,
Ohio State University, 1987 and his PhD in Electrical
Engineering from University of Toledo, 1995. Dr. Dai is Sr.
Vice President of advanced Technologies and Senior
Principal Engineer at Operation Technology, Inc., USA. He is
a member of IEEE, the past chairman of the Power System Analysis Subcommittee of
the IEEE Industrial Applications Society (IAS), a chapter chairman of the IEEE
Brown Book, the coauthor of IEEE Harmonics Modeling and Simulation Tutorial,
and a past
chairman of the Harmonic Task Force of IAS. Dr. Dai has authored and coauthored
more than 20 technical papers in the area of power system modeling and analysis. He
is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of California.

Farrokh Shokooh got his BS, MS and PhD in Electrical Engineering

from Louisiana State University respectively in1972, 1975 and 1979.
Dr. Shokooh founded Operation Technology, Inc. in 1986 and has
served as President and Chief Executive Officer. He was a staff
engineer for Fluor Corporation and Barbay Engineers, Inc. Dr.
Shokooh has served on the faculty of Louisiana State University and
University of California, Irvine. He is a Fellow of IEEE and a
recipient of IEEE Third Millennium Medal. He is an active member of IEEE subcommittees
and working groups. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of California.

2. Proposed method / main idea : Abstract,Last paragraph of introduction ,Conclution

The smart grid is characterized as a unified power system with all of its
connected substations and generation resources. This makes the power transmission
and distribution a road with two avenues of information and electricity flows. Power
flows have always been available and the development of new information
technologies over the web and synchrophasors have made data available over the
globe. The larger the size of the network the more complicated are control strategies.
This complication makes the control of power system a chain of multivariable
objectives, constraints and interactive control strategies. It is essential that every facet
and constraint in power system be taken into account; so that a robust, reliable and
comprehensive solution is achieved.
