unwavering, enthusiasm that help the researchers in their preparation and completion
the data and information needed for the analysis for the study.

ABSTRACT
This study aims to assess the implementation of the DepEd Order No. 13 s.
2017 in the Northwestern University Canteen. Specifically, it seeks to answer the
following questions:
1. What is the main reason why DepEd implemented the DepEd order No. 13?
2. What are the common food products consumed by the Northwestern
University students?
3. What are the possible strategies that will help promote healthy diets and
positive eating behaviors on students and employees in Northwestern
University?
The descriptive method was used to assess the implementation of the DepEd Order
No. 13 in the Northwestern University Canteen.
After all the data were analyzed, presented and interpreted the following are the findings
of the study:
1. Majority of the Junior High School respondents (76.47%) have explained
that the reasons for implementing the No Unhealthy Foods Policy in the Canteens
Policy is to ensure promotion and development of healthy eating among youth.
Meanwhile, out of 49 respondents of Senior High School respondents (83.67%) have
explained that the reasons for implementing the No Unhealthy Foods Policy in the
Canteens Policy is because of the increasing rate of malnutrition
2. The total survey participants in the Junior High School Department,
(92.16%) have chosen safe and clean water as their top common food product that
they consume in the school canteen. In terms with the Senior High School Department
respondents, (95.92%) have chosen safe and clean water also as their top common
food product that they consume.
3. Junior High School respondents believe that the possible categories that will
help promote healthy diets and possible eating behavior is that each school shall
develop their own healthy menu ensuring that the foods and drinks offered are
nutritious, affordable, and complaint with these guidelines for approval by the School
Division Superintendent (SDS) as indicated with a (3.64) rating which has Strongly
Agree verbal interpretation. On the other side Senior High School believe that each
school shall develop their own healthy menu ensuring that the foods and drinks
offered are nutritious, affordable, and complaint with these guidelines for approval by
the School Division Superintendent (SDS) with a (3.73) rating which has Strongly
Agree verbal interpretation.
