1. Uraikan komponen2 pokok dari Proses Manajemen Strategik (Strategic Management


Process)

- Review and Define the Organizational Mission, mission statements identify the scope of
the organization in terms of its product or service. It used for decision making when
shared by organizational managers and employees. Mission statement can be used for
evaluating organization performance and decrease the chance of false directions by
stakeholders.

- Analyze and Formulate Strategies, we will know what needs to be done to reach
objectives by do a realistic evaluation of the position of the enterprise and do an

assessment of the internal and external environments. This strategy formulations ends
with cascading objectives or projects assigned to lower division, departments, or
individuals.

- Set Objectives to Achieve Strategies, objectives will change the organization strategy
into specific, concrete and measurable terms. Objectives can cover market, products,
innovation, productivity, quality, finance, profitability, employees and consumers of of
organization. In objectives will be there a time frame, can be measurable, can be an
identifiable state and should be realistic.

- Implement Strategies through Projects, implementation requires action and completing


tasks, where it has to give attention to several key areas. There are four requirements for
implementation: to completing the tasks requires allocation of resources, a formal and
informal organization that complement and support strategy and projects, to ensure
strategies are effectively performed than requires placing the planning and the control
systems in certain project activities, and the last thing that will be a major factor for
achieving successful project is motivating project contributors.

2. Bagaimana peran dari proyek2 pada Proses Manajemen Strategik (Strategic Management
Process)?

Projects will realize the strategies formulation by implementation. Implementation project


is an integral part of the strategic management process.

B. Project Selection

3. You are the head of the project selection team at SIMSOX. Your team is cosidering three
different projects. Based on past history, SIMSOX expects at least a rate of return of 20
percent. Your financial advisors predict inflation to remain at 3 percent into the
foreseeable future.

Given the following information for each project, which one should be SIMSOX first
priority? Should SIMSOX fund any of the other projects? If so, what should be the order
of priority based on return on investment?

This problem is about financial analysis where can be solved by using NPV formula. Project
with the highest npv value is preferred to be funding.

NPV first year = 50000/((1+0,0023)1) = 49885,26


NPV second year = 250000/((1+0,0023)2)= 250000/1.0046 = 248855,26
NPV third year = 350000/((1+0.0023)3)=350000/1.0069= 347601,55

Total Dust Devils Project NPV = -500000 + (49885,26+248855,26+347601,55)
= -500000 + 422372,07 = -77627,93

Project Ospry:

NPV first year = 75000/((1+0,0023)1) = 74827,89


NPV second year = 75000/((1+0,0023)2)= 75000/1.0046 = 74656,58
NPV third year = 75000/((1+0.0023)3)=75000/1.0069= 74486,05
NPV fourth year = 50000/((1+0.0023)4)=50000/1.0092= 49544,19

Total Ospry Project NPV = -250000 + (74827,89+74656,58+74486,05+49544,19)


= -250000 + 273514,71 = 23514,71

Project Voyagers:

NPV first year = 15000/((1+0,0023)1) = 14965,58


NPV second year = 25000/((1+0,0023)2)= 25000/1.0046 = 24885,52
NPV third year = 50000/((1+0.0023)3)=50000/1.0069= 49657,36
NPV fourth year = 50000/((1+0.0023)4)=50000/1.0092= 49544,19
NPV fifth year = 150000/((1+0.0023)5)=150000/1.0115= 148294,61

Total Voyagers Project NPV = -75000 + (14965,58+24885,52+49657,36+49544,19


+148294,61)
= -75000 + 187347,26 = 112347,26

by comparing these 3 projects NPV value, we get that Voyagers Project has the biggest NPV
value 112347,26, so the Voyagers Project should be the priority project
